Last advice. Do not self-medicate. Medications work differently on different people. That's why dosages differ for different people. Medications (esp so for psychiatric drugs) has many cross reactions with other drugs, not to mention things like alcohol.
Also, feeling "depressed" may not be depression. Even when somebody is depressed, it's important to exclude other causes of depression other than psychiatric cause. There are many other organic causes of depression or a depressed mood. And the treatment is, of course, drastically different. Popping a pill doesn't help - it's dangerous.
