well i guess its true, ang moh(s) do have an edge over locals here; but it is also true singaporeans have an edge over other locals when our people are overseas.
its this "foreign loving effect". i was on my way to school when i saw a young ang moh girl driving a pickup, i was like "WOAH! amazing sight"
when i was in a students hostel in london during backpack i was chatting to this french room mate, (and you know i thought all along french people cant stand brits, vice versa) and he told me: "in my country, all the girls flock to british guys, so im going to try my luck here."
our colonial past and this foreign loving tendency of mankind is what creates this phenomena, putting all the unfairness we face in real life on the issue of race is short-sighted because: it happens everywhere (stop blaming our country already)
no offence dude, just my humble opinion 8)
speaking about bad experience, damn my worse was at maestro's at excelsior plaza... i bought my 300$ sd-3 acoustic from there and though i was buying, the guy was treating me like like pariah
haha i guess public feedback helps, when i was back at maestro 2months ago or more, that guy was no longer there (but i wasnt the one who complained) and currently is this very nice lady who is tending the shop? yes she is very helpful
luthermusic has superb service i think, best in the whole of excelsior. this malay guy there was really helpful tho i know nuts about guitars and he helped tho i interrupted his lunch hour and the boss, a chinese guy, is equally helpful to a poor NUS student scooping around for a guitar... but too bad i fell for a maestro
