AMP TOO LOUD

They sell this 'box' for US$200. Shipping by air costs 50% of the product price and takes 2-4 weeks. Ridiculous.

Considering that shipping speakers can cost more than the price of the speaker itself, I dont really thinking the shipping is ridiculous.

Either way, if you're missing the air being pushed, or the outright volume, or the floor shaking, there's absolutely no other way than to play in a bigger place where you're allowed to play louder music.

Otherwise, if you're not too anal about the tone, I think power scaling, isolation panels and THD Hotplate all work fine in theory. And they're all reasonably priced imo.

Just curious -- how many watts is your current amp?

This whole problem with volume and tube saturation just makes the new 5 watt Epiphone Valve Jr a whole lot more appealing.. its getting rave reviews apparently. Anyone know if we stock it here in Singapore?

You can ask Sweelee to bring in, I asked.

It is supposedly still loud though. Search through thegearpage.net and read about it.

yeah i guess ure right thor666.

and insomniac, my amp is 50W.

btw, power scaling seems to be a fantastic idea. It works better than an attenuator because it lets the amp's cranked sound go through the speakers at ANY volume (high/low). NO tone is sacrificed. Only speaker saturation, although during gigs or watver, the speaker volume can be simply turned up to get that air moving out the front end.
Too good to be true? i duno..

You can order one overseas and get a tech to install it.

Do a search under thegearpage.net if you're interested.

THAT IS EVIL!!!

NEVER EVER GO THEREEEEEEEEE!!!!

wow whats with the vehement reaction......... 8O

thanks to harmony-central and other review sites i found out that the MASS is very tone depressing at the higher att. levels. This, as opposed to Dr.Z Airbrake which is apparently MUCH more transparent, even at the bedroom level mode. So if anything, the Airbrake looks the best choice - quite damn expensive though..US$300.

apparently, different attenuators work differently with different amps. :D

I'll be getting isolation panels soon, so you might wanna hop on.

what exactly do u mean by isolation panels? Im not sure what you mean by that..

Do you mean like an enclosure? i.e. a drum kit enclusure

or like sound absorbing barriers?..haha..can u plz explain alittle more??
