hi all guit heads, what brand and model of amp would you recommend?

My requirements:

- Home use. If can use for stage would be good(not a must)
- Want something with build-in effects, like flanger, wah etc.
Not really keen to go the stomp-box way.
- My type of muzic, MEtallica, Iron Maiden, Scorpion, mostly heavier stuffs. Alot of screams and wahs. Sounds like a bitch on heat type of sound?( dun ask me, i have not heard wat a bitch on heat sounds like. a cat yes.)

New or second hand is fine with me.

Thanks guyz

umm..heavy stuff.. sounds like u need a roland cube 60.. think it might cost SLIGHTLY more than 500.. but u can always get their younger brothers..

Great! But what is a cube 30? Is it Roland? Pai seh la, really very mountian with all these. I seriously do not mind checking this cube thing out. A friend of my was recommending this Fender G something to me, but I would like to have at least 2 more options.

Ibanez if u dun mind

Strongly recommend Ibanez TBX65R... =)

65 watt powerful enough for stage... a monster for home use... currently using it .. the amp distortion is a killer... go try it! and ya the best thing it is within your budget.. about 450 - 480

Anywhere else I can get Ibanez without going to SL?

hmm.. sounds like the roland cube does fit the bill, although the cube 30x might not be powerful enough for stage use, but u can always mic up..

the ibanez seems really cool.. but no effects leh..
the TS wants built-in effects..

but for people like me..i like leh.. i always love to keep 2x12" combos.. the ibanez 2x12" looks really sweet..and i hated my vox.. eh daisuke ah.. your ibanez got a "modern" sound or not ah? if not i got to go down test myself.. i like the laney sound actually.. never played ibanez before..

go to blackwood guitars , get a vox or marshall mini stack , totally worth it

Thanks.

Will definitely check them out.

Currently looking into Cube 30, Line6 III 30, And this Marshall mini stack. Anymore that you think is worth considering, please add them in to confuse me. I rather have more to confuse me than suffer cognitive dissonance .

Thanks Dime.

But is tube amp anymore difficult to car/breaks easier than the other amps?
And what is the advantage of tube amp?

sounds warmer?? haha... u can feel the tone diff from a tube amp and a normal solid state amp... not veri good at explaining it...

but one thing about the amp is the built in dist isnt tat heavy to your type of music tat u are playing if u are not going through pedals...

my recommandation for ur budget are the roland cube and ibanez series... best to just head down and try all the amps... lolx..

Tube amps don't sound warmer, nor is it any "better" than solid state amps..
It's just that generally, there are more good tube amps than solid state ones..
At that budget, the in-built distortion wouldn't be satisfactory..
You definitely have to consider the use of pedals!

I went to sweelee yesterday and they're having 40% off some of their amps including rolandcube. You might want to check it out. =D

i got my cube 30x at $350 at sweelee.and i love that amp a lot, although im using a marshall now.you may want to buy your cube30x together with a boss ds-1 for around $70 also at sweelee, its a good match.thats what i did

where will you be using your amp?if its at home,30w is more than enough.my cube 30x can cause the window grilles to start rattling at the 9o'clock position
