my singing realli sucks, but can't be more suckier when i record and listen to my own voice...is this common. Where to go for not so expensive vocal coaching in singapore....sigh lol

u can go online to search for vocal tips.u can oso try to listen to one of your favourite song, listen to it everyday and sing along.imitate every single words in the song.definitely,u'll improve.it takes time and oso determination.u can do it!gd luck!

haha ive been watching vocal lessons video on youtube.. just search for
"how to sing properly" it helped quite abit, but im still not anywhere near to singing properly yet.. need alot of practice.. and i hate my own voice..grrr

I used to suffer from that too :/
I hate hearing my own voice, and I'll most often leave the room when they playback my recordings..
I got used to it in the end and just take it as professionally as I could.. no point nitpicking my own voice when everyone else seems satisfied with it. :}

I used to hate my own voice too .. so much so that I would never sing a song that I'd heard a recording of myself singing, because I realized how bad it sounded :)

But it's now reached the "bearable" point and gone beyond. It's still some time before it gets to performance-worthy.

Things only started changing when I bit the bullet and took expensive vocal lessons. Cheap lessons are plentiful but you get what you pay for ..

The "sing along and imitate" method never worked for me, it just made things worse. Maybe it works for some people.

Haha Yea! I suffer the same 'disease'!
Everytime i listen to myself sing it sounds ok, but after recording it and hearing the playback. It makes my hair stand . Arrgghhh!!!:o

Well try to go to youtube, it has tons of tutorial vids. Its the budget-est of the most budget-est. Good luck!!

when u hear yourself sing as u sing, it sounds good. but the recordings always sound different, coz u hear ur own voice in ur own head too, but other people can only hear ur voice with their ears, so naturally its different. i guess.

oh i dont feel so bad now i know there are other ppl having the same problem. the thing is ppl all tell me i have a very good voice. i used to do vocals but since i switched to playing more lead guitar i've stopped. even when i get the chance to i dont. i just find it very uncomfortable hearing myself sing. i can sing with my earphones plugged in and i cant hear my voice. ppl tell me dude why dont u sing more.

i just cant. it might be a self esteem problem or confidence problem but neh.. i'm cool with just playing guitars.

^^ I can tell you one thing sweetie, running away from a talent because of self-esteem isn't worth it.. I'm speaking from my own experiences here..

In the end, we're just closing open doors and rubbing away the paths to better opportunities for us, even when the path looks vague.

Keep singing :) You'll get used to it, really.
Force yourself to listen to your voice.
How I got over it is to stop comparing myself to what -I- deem as good vocals, and just appreciate the voice as any other 'new' voice.

Or you could just ignore it completely and just listen to the melody :) Sometimes melodies reinforces the beauty of our voices, whether or not the voice is good.
