Alternative Rock

to thread starter

GENRE has been develop in such a way that
people have their own view on this

so alot of people has forgotton the REAL genre

even GUN'S AND ROSES or METALLICA
can't define what's

GENRE

cause music has been develop in alot of ways

like
EYES SET TO KILL-mixture of pop and screamo for vocalist
sound wise <i would say> post hardcore

dope---mixture of 80's top rock/metal/industrial in their sound
it's so mix till they re-do/record/mix their albums for like 2-3

cause it's really hard to get the sound they want

CELLDWELLER---(if you know him)
why he can't get full line up?
cause he himself is so alternative till sometimes he went crazy about music
and he can't only find stand in people for he's live shows

stonesour----rock/metal/hardrock
but what they have
acoustic songs and stuff

so to me
GENRE is use just only for songs

cause alot of bands has been going around
a mixture of GENRE

cause of this leads to people having their own view on GENRE

which leads to
disagreement and lot's of band broke up too
>>>

you can't disagree me saying this
IT'S JUST MY LITTLE VIEW ON THIS>

Anybody still listening to Stone Temple Pilots? I think they're awesome though disbanded.

Toooo many genres of music nowadays. No use fighting over it. For all you know you can create a new brand of music. Why not just term it 70s rock, 80s rock, 90s rock and 00s rock?

If i said I play 80s rock, you'll probably know what kind of rock music i play right? haha.

You could be Metallica, or Cinderalla. Similar names, but totally different sound.

BUT HELL YEAH 80s ROCK RULES!

*hides in a corner*

woah, what happen, alternative means those bands?

Heh, pardon me, my idea of alternative was still in the early to mid 90s kinda alternative, back when sally yeh was hosting alternative nation on mtv

Sally host Alternative nation??!! haha

i thought she would end up with Eddie vedder rather than Mr Lam haha:mrgreen:

ironically the 'alt rock' bands in the 90s and early 00s did relatively well in the mainstream market. i remember staind's 'break the cycle' went straight to no.1 on the billboard 200 albums chart. when a rock band does something like that it is really special

silverchair changed/progressed so much over the years that its hard to just find a genre to classify them.

heh, between frogstomp and the last album, its pretty much sounding like 2 different bands. But still i gotta respect that they are still around and at least progressing in term of musical style and sound then just playing what they started out with..
