Hello guys, I need some advise to protect your ears when playing drums. I have been using a Rute to practice at home, had not gone to the jamming studios quite long. When i play in studios. my ears kinda hurt. need some help for care tips. thanks! :D

The ones from drum resources are from etymotics. Not too sure abt 3M ones but as long it cut down the sound, it should be alright.

I takes time to get use to it, with my personal experience,
i was in jam studio / gig sound check for a day and had 8 hrs on the drum kit, i found that my ears do not heard from the tom toms or bass drum, But its start to feel the crack when i am doing rim shots and hitting heavy cymbals with lots of overtones,
But to answer your question, What i did in the past was to use a $100 sennheiser cx300 earphones and fit it on my ears when i am drumming, it cuts around 20 db, which is just nice,
If u were to use a Shure iem thats cuts around 40 decibals, u wont be able to hear yourself on the kit clearly and you might end up whacking it, just my personal pointers here, cheers :)
