Special thanx to all the kakis who came down & jam including bro Tertra and Mike Mazgendran. Big Hi to Kevin "Watchmen" Mathews - loved your 3 song set to the max and of course to Jonathan who was such a gracious host and to the Malay girls (sorry I didnt get their names) and to Inch from Allura who was working there..

Hope U all enjoyed our set

we certainly enjoyed your set, Farid. thanks for coming down with the boys and sharing your music. sorry that your guitar string burst during your set. if anything, it was a sure indication of the intensity of your playing, and singing! keep rocking! come jam whenever you feel like it :)

the girl you were referring to is Syltra Lee; she helps me host the Friday Jam Sessions, and last night, together with her sister Shermin, i thot they were marvellous with their short set. love those harmonies! and Inch, your virgin venture beyond the kitchen to the jam arena was a blast. never mind the wrong guitar chords. it was DA voice that mattered ;)

kevin, i'm looking forward to doing more of your songs with you. till the next time we jam, bro......

Thanx again Jon, will pop by more often time permiting.

Lee? Oic tot she was Malay...

btw wsnt Faz & Mark great too doin their stuff? I love jammin with diff ppl who are so creative

Never thought of jamming though as I didn't bring my trumpet which I sold years ago. Hehehe...! But with Farid and the gang just can't help it. Was really a nice atmosphere. I'll come by and by to check it out whenever I'm free.

Saluti!
Faz (Tetragrammaton)

BTW Bro Faz have U recorded yr tune one & onnly yet? nice...

cheers mate

hey sorry for the late reply, farid! kevin Mathews wasn't there 'cos he went to catch GSE at the National Museum, hence there was no blog update lol :)

but we had fun as usual. Syltra and I opened as always, and we had a couple of peeps coming up to jam.

the friday two days ago was interesting. a foursome jazz band (D Music Box) came up to play four songs as a goodbye gig-of-sorts for their keyboardist who was going away for her overseas studies. sweet music from these guys, who had a trumpeter among them. we also had one guy, Isaac Teo, who came up to perform. very nice vocals and nifty acoustic guitar work. I accompanied Rachael Teo on the piano for a Corrinne May number, "If He Didn't Love Me". lurve that song... and the composer! and the second last person to perform was Sham, who did an original that showcased his powerful vocals. not sure if i got his name right... but he came before to perform on a Friday, sharing his collection of originals. Angsty, but raw and powerful. Again, as usual, Syltra & i closed with a song; this time, Rachael Yamagata's "Worn Me Down".

hope you had a good week, farid :) see you again soon!

Hey guys thanks for the kind words.. yeah actually its Shyam.

But yeah i love the guitar and the setup. And Syltra and you rocked as usual.

Dude the guy who played the instrumental , you caught the chords on the piano on the spot rite?some good stuff there man. Hope to see you there this friday.

Cheers!

haha! well, fgl, dun bully small girl lah ;) but heh.. its nice to hear her sing each Friday. Powerhouse, girl!

hi Shyam! well the guy who did that Final Fantasy instrumental... his name is Melvyn. he wrote out the chords for me, and i improvised with the fill-ins. glad you liked the piece.. yup hope to see ya again this Friday :)

oh dear.. after chatting with Kevin Mathews yesterday, i realised i missed mentioning a few peeps, including Melvyn with the Final Fantasy number. there was also Fiona, a regular student jammer who did a couple of songs, including her favourite Oasis song "Let There Be Love". of course there was Mr Mathews himself, who entertained us with three of his originals, two of which he performed for the first time at the SAC last Friday. lurve that "Never Liked The Beatles" number, Kevin! hope you liked Inch & my backup singing at the side with the "par pap pap pahhhh" ;) and the last one with the digs at Singapore life was hilarious! After Kevin, we had another regular, Alex Bell who hails from London. Alex dreams about singing as a career, and that evening, Syltra and I accompanied him on his favourite songs: Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and U2's "One". Rock on, Alex!

Gosh.. hope i didn't miss out anyone.. most important of all IMO was that it was yet another fun jamming session. Yay Friday's coming again :)
