Quote wikipedia "Jazz musicians often call it the acoustic bass to distinguish it from electric bass guitars."

That is the real acoustic bass

Good luck trying to play it with a bow

oh...ok.. well anyone did an order from oversea??

export kind of stuff???

does Singapore sell Dean Bass Guitar??

I'm interested in users' comments as well. My experience is that they are very soft - ie if not plugged into an amp. The sound, being in the low frequency end, does not reverberate inside the body like the acoustic guitar. It's only loud enough for me (the player) to hear. It may survive a room of people but it appears to be easily drown by other acoustic instruments if played together.

Any acoustic/electric bass guitar that's loud enough?

And Averal, he's not talking about acoustic bass but the acoustic bass guitar. Something like this:

For the last 4 years the Dragonfly models from Michael Kelly have been the most in-demand acoustic basses on the market. The newest version (the third edition) has some important upgrades. We started with a dramatic upgrade in the active amplification system. Now you get the Fishman MKAB system, the first pre-amp optimized for acoustic bass. The Dragonfly also features real quilt maple wood on the body. The tone of the maple is brighter, more focused and has added projection. Other upgrades on the Dragonfly 3 is hand scalloped bracing, a double adjustable truss rod and dual graphite reinforcement rods for added neck stability and longevity. Like with all of our basses you get improved feel with our 34" scale for the perfect string response. Of course you also get an amazing looking vine style, Dragonfly accented inlay that adorns the fingerboard. It is made from real abalone and pearl for the ultimate in instrument extravagance. Select from 4 and 5 string, Fretted and Fretless. In the Dragonfly fretted version select from gloss natural, amber and transparent black colors.

as in brand,price and feature...

Unless you manage to score some crazy deal with an even crazier guy, your best bet for a $98 acoustic bass is to buy a big metal tub, a broomstick and some string to make a washtub bass.

Seriously speaking, you'd probably have a higher chance of buying a used SX for that kinda cash compared to an acoustic bass.
