Abt various ds1 mods...

ARGHHHH DONT TALK ABT THOSE SHIT AMPS. i'm really nvr going back to that place EVER. hahha. the marshall solid states are really terrible. there are still newbies that immediately go for those few because of the marshall name on it. thats why u think marshall is overrated. true, after all so many famous musicians have been using them.

anyway we've strayed away from the topic like sooper far.

LOL. anyways i hope we can jam soon my man :D

I agree with you, newbies will go "eh marshall stacks in <insert that place>,damn GOOD LEH!!" and i'll show them my middle finger. Rightttttttttt.........

yeap i've been discussing with kevin already!

ahahha eh some newbies have nvr heard good tone before so cannot blame them. their ears percieve tone from the name "marshall", "gibson", "fender" etc, NOT the sound. so the name is the factor to their so called good tone.

but cant blame them. we've all been newbies before. i was privileged enough to have friends who guided my learning process when i first started. not guitar teachers, but more of friends.. if not for that i'd probably be one of them who will buy a marshall mg as a practice amp.

hmm those 2 above brand names mentioned plus what you said about brand names really hit the nail on the head...just happened remind me of a certain dude.... HAHAHHA

Yeah I know man, its just too bad you couldnt make it on tues....nvm...we shall jam next year!!

been doing abit of research lately..would you guys think a big muff would be gd?? It has more gain and sustain than the ds-1 which is making it quite tempting..i like the rhythm tone bt the lead is abit fizzy and is nt that clear coz after all its still a fuzz pedal. the modded ds1 has more clarity then the muff. im considering the russian or little big muff, maybe even the new big muff with the tone wicker which sounds quite interesting..

Thoughts???

sittingduck: the big muff is very very different from a ds-1. i owned one before, i loved it for its rich creamy singing sustain. i regret selling it away. but one thing i noticed was it had problems cutting through the band while i played.

the ds-1 has more clarity and harmonics than a fuzz. so its up to u to decide what u require.

yeah sure bro....its ok to be one but not to be a total asshole while at it.

my liking for marshalls are solely because of their tone. not because slash uses it or something like that. thats why i do not consider myself to be one of those ppl.

gibson, i have to admit the moment i got mine there was a the idol factor in it. but i've got pass that phase already. thank goodness i didnt live to regret it. happened with my previous guitar.

ya i tink the new muff with the tone wicker helps to solve the "problems cutting through the band " problem. thers this wicker knob that allows the higher frequencys to cut through better and adds volume i tink.

Yeap.. Volume plus more present treble.. Tried it today.. WICKED SICK pedal!

But for those wanting a muff on steriods, I recommend checking out the Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz..
