AB loopers with parallel connection

Was thinking of mixing 2 loops, loop A + loop B.

Did a search on the net, most loopers either
- allow you to select loop A OR loop B
- series connection, loop A -> loop B

So far, found Boss LS-2, that can do this.

was recommended for another softie on this site www.looper.com, but the builder is " retired ".

Anyone know any alternatives ?

Mixing 2 loops is better to be active. I mainly do passive switching. If the Boss LS-2 can do that, why not use that? Other options are mini mixers or Goose's blender. If you don't need expression ask him to put it into an enclosure for you :D

for ls-2, mainly because it is not possible to go from loop A to loop A + loop B at a tap of a footswitch. In the loop A + loop B mode, you either have no effects loop or 2 effects loop.

blueark, you know of any mini mixers? i do remember seeing Goose's blender, though.

I see. Swee Lee has the samson S-mix. A small 5 channel mixer, about the size of a bigger pedal, which is the smallest 5 channel mixer i've seen. And I think it goes for less than $100. It runs on 12V though I think.

But that will just allow you to mix two or more signals. What you can do from there is build a pedal to mute one of the signals, so A+B becomes just A. However that may cause the percieved volume to drop, I'm not too sure. But that's where a blender would come in handy, so you can just control the mix between A and B smoothly.

there's also a classic looking EH mixer that bro pathein bro uses. runs on 9V if I recall correctly and its still the only EH pedal packed in a wooden box for maximum moooojjooooo.... made in Russia.

on those small mixer, i been using a passive rolls type and the EH type as mentioned by edder. They are pretty useful if wanting to add various input/instrument to one output or one input with 4 output configuration. But do note that even with my "bo chap" tone sucking listening ears, the dullness is pretty obvious once passing singal through it.

theres ways to work around putting back the lost in the chain thou. End of the day, unless like playing around with changing pedals, adding in, taking out and try. If not, goose blender is a usefull and more straightforward one.

Other than goose blender, theres also the xotic X-blender or the toneczar vfm. But be prepared to pay a lot lot more...

and worst come to worst, i have heard from a friend bout using 2 Ls-2 with 2 expression pedals that does the blending of some sort. Am not too sure the details, but its possible it seem.

imho

Possible mod for the LS-2 to blend the two different loops with an expression pedal? Much like a poor man's toneczar VFM

I remembered seeing once an expression pedal where u attach some cable thingy to the knobs of your stompboxes so u can control the parameters with your foot instead of having to bend down. Can't remember what its called though

the tip 3rd hand i believe. Imho, to pay 100+ usd for a pedal that do nothing but turned a pot, hehe, i rather bend over and turn it myself when required

Not while playing or been having too much beer before the gig,i might just fall over ....can also velcro the desired pedal to the guitar, if pedalboard estate gets too extreme
