A One spot alternative

Since the One stop adaptor seem to be out of stock for THE LONGEST TIME ever now, what will be a good alternative for the One spot

Users of other adaptors give your 2cents worth

pls keep this in mind

1. don't give alternatives like custom power supplies,DC Bricks,Rocks stones or watever, keep it simple and affordable to everyone

2. maybe something that might work wit a daisy chain

3. must at least power up 5 to 8 pedals with as little humming or noise interference

maybe a small write up on your suggestions will be good for everone reading

kinda like price, where to buy,how many pedals can it fire up
u noe things like that

cheers

But bro.. The One Spot has been known to cause some hum problems..
This alternative is cheaper too, with a higher output of current (regulated, not fluctuating).. Or so they say :-D

Anyone who can contact the man do contact me.. I'll be going back to sec sch to morally support my juniors getting their results..

Won't have access to a com till night!

Hi, some time ago, I have seen a similar thread on power supplies. The only unique thing about this particular thread is that the threadstarter is asking for softies's 2cents worth, rather than just recommendation through words of mouth. So I will give my 2 cents worth.

I have 2 adaptors now. The 1spot and the Boss PSA adaptor. By comparing max current draw value, 1spot can supply more current, meaning it can power more pedals. Some say that 1spot is noisy, but then again, the Boss is noisy, if you didnt ground the unused daisy chain.

Talking about hum, it appears that the Boss PSA is quieter than the 1spot when used with delays or chorus, but I have a friend who feels that the Boss PSA produces alot more hum than 1spot when used with gainish pedals like od or ds. Dun know why, but nonetheless the Boss PSA is a good adaptor.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.
Just would like to clarify that I'm not the effectpower.blogspot person.
and he's also not affiliated with me in anyway.

my number is also on my website.

adaptor shud not be noisy, but when when you start using dc chain to connect pedals via one adaptor, there can be hiss/noise.. Possible worst case when you are using adaptors like one spot with dc chain and having reverse polarity supply pedals(line 6, moog etc) mixed with those pedals with center negative supply(most pedals are these kinda)

usually for pedals that some people like to use batt, are fuzz pedals(with some fuzz actually not having adaptor jacck at all). Other than that most pedals in the market usually perform the same whether using batt or adaptor.

If really wanna cut down noise level to minimum. Just get those big transformer based supply with isolated output. Each pedal will draw the energy it needed to run without sharing with other pedals.

hey
great reviews from fellow softies

thanks everyone

i now use 2 one-spots for my pedal board which consist of 10 pedals
each adaptor powering 5 pedals each and i don't hear the slight hum i get when i was only using 1 adaptor to power 8 pedals

so i guess that would also be a alternative
rather then overlaoding a single adaptor
share it among 2

Ive been to g77 recently and the 1 spot is currently available. Including the daisy chain. Get them while stocks last!!!

I was waiting for a reply.. After I sold my adaptor I was getting desperate lol..
Ended up with a One Spot and a MC-8 daisy chain.. ;)
Works well for me.. Don't really need that high an output!
