a little help on guitar selection...

ShredCow: if i buy the JEM Jr and do the neccessary bridge upgrade, would it cost a lot? haha, thanks, i see that you're the expert on guitars around here, and after reading all the reviews on JEM jr, i've decided i rather buy something else.

Black_Death: ok, i understand. i want something that won't cause too much of a hassle either! anyway, restringing would cost around how much? lol, les paul also has 2 humbuckers right? whats the sound difference between SSH and 2 humbuckers?

single coils have their own distinct sound..frankly..i prefer singles for neck..and humbucker for bridge.
they sound..hmm...i dunno...they juz rock my balls.tried an MIA (not missing in action la!!) fender strat..the stock pickups are nice FOR ME..single coils for neck..i dun like the sound of single coils on bridge..sumhow.
restringing wise..i dunno the price..the dude at G77 does it for me..for free. :wink: miza or wadeva his name is..

since you havent told us what kinda sound are u looking for, i dont think its very wise to advise you regarding the type of pickups or even the type of guitar to get..

for a humbucker guitar, you got to pick harder to get more tone, coz a humbucker cancels out a few frequencies along with the evil hum
BUT if you can control the hum, den you can get more tone with a single coil, and on top of getting more tone, you can pick harder, and make everyone's ears bleed
btw i have no idea wad dis topicis all abt, but ya heres my point
humbucker - less tone - pick harder - decent tone
single coil - more tone - pick even harder - wicked tone

jolyn, wat i mean is dat tube sim amps can't capture FULLY the tone or feel or a real tube amp. but if u feel that it is gd enuf........then go get it lor.....
