$800 pearl target or $1000 tama rockstar

hi im new here.. need help as i am thinking of getting a drumset but not sure which to get.
am offered 800 for brand new pearl target and i can get it asap for practice use at home. but was advised by a friend who got her tama rockstar for only 1k at swee lee to wait for the yr end sale. but not sure if able to get it or not... so just wondering if any cld advice me if i shld get the pearl target or wait for the sale...

$800 Pearl Target, i can get it in a few days and though the quality isnt all that good, its sufficient for practice for a novice like me.

$1000 Tama Rockstar, wait for the swee lee sale at the end of the yr and i might not even be able to get it due to the long queue.

And if i were to choose Pearl Target, wouldnt it be wiser to wait till the swee lee sale also since they would have it too? But if i were to queue for hours only to be told that the set is sold?

I think most of the people who go there to queue up arn't really looking for lower-end drumsets, so you can probably queue up there, then go in and pick either one. You might also see better deals, and they'll also be selling stuff separately on the first floor. Generally, you should hang around and wait first for the sale, it really is much more worth it unless you need it urgently.

Also, while you're at the sale, do try to get new skins for the drums if you can. Low end drums can still sound decent with good skins and tuning.

You're welcome, good luck with it! If you really cannot cannot tahan the wait then sign up for membership, it costs $100 but considering that you're buying your drumset at half the price...

It's ironic, though, that half the people who go for Swee Lee sales are already members who've relented and paid the $100 membership. Also, most of the bastards who poach the deals go really early to line up. Horribly early.

Hahaha is one hour horribly early? I managed to get my snare by going one hour early... saw a long queue and was scared it'll be out before I get it xP

i tot the rockstar is no longer in production? now the superstar took over the rockstar i think. am i right?
