500K or 250K pot?

Why?
Does 250K increases the "brightness" comparing to 500K?
Is "500K volume, 250K tone" the most common combination?
What is the commonly used pots for different config (ie HH, SSS, SSH etc)?

they are hot and add same treble to ur tone..

suitable for hotter pickup..imo

u might like to experiment with the capacitor instead...hehe
it can alter ur tone too..

250K decreases the "brightness" and volume instead for a more "vintage" sound. The effect is stronger in the tone pot then the volume pot.

Common combis are
HH 500K vol and tone
SSS 250K vol and tone

For SSH, I prefer 500K vol and 250K tone for a good compromise. It is a commonly mentioned topic in Dimarzio, SD and Kinman websites.
