About Futon

Emerging from the sleazy capital of the Orient, Bangkok-based Futon are a band that defy definition and confront the South East Asian pop stereotype with reckless abandon. One of the names you’ll definitely recognize in Futon’s international lineup is Simon Gilbert, the ex-drummer of Suede. Comprising of Gene & Oh (both Thai), Momoko (Japanese), Bee, David and Simon (all UK), the band are a heady combination of Western decadence and South East Asian sultriness.

Futon tied the knot on the dance floor of Bangkok's hottest club night, Rehab, where like minds and hedonists gather to hear the latest electro tunes from London, New York and Tokyo.

Futon was the opening band for Avril Lavigne’s concert in Thailand, and also participated in 2005’s MTV Asia Aid after-party. Their music videos are on high rotation on MTV Thailand, MTV Asia, and Channel V.

What the Press Say
‘Futon are a Bangkok-based band who spend their time playing electronic music and looking excruciatingly cool. In 2005 the band were joined by Simon Gilbert, who used to play drums with Suede (yes, Suede- I told you these guys were cool!)’ - BBC

‘Punked-up electro with a rock n’ roll attitude’ What’s On, London

‘A head-on car crash between Asian and European pop culture’ MTV Magazine

‘It’s not everyday you run into a band that feels as close to being on the cusp of exploding as Futon.’ Metro, Bangkok

‘A world-class dance group.’ Observer Music Monthly, UK

‘Of all the styles of Thai pop, this is by far the most alluring.’ Observer Music Monthly, UK

About Force Vomit
www.forcevomit.com
www.myspace.com/forcevomit

Force Vomit started in late 1993 when four night-shift taxi drivers decided to take musical matters into their own hands and start their own band. They have had many line-up changes and messy misadventures since then but having been around for more than a decade, there are no doubt that these talented musicians are here to stay.

Hi all,

We will be giving away 3 pairs of tickets to the Bar None Rock Affair. Write in to James at info@soft.com.sg. It'd be a lucky draw so 3 guys will walk away with a pair of tickets each.

Closing date of entry: Wed 17 May 2006, midnight.

ya, just send me an email stating you would like to have the tickets. PLUS, your contact number. Very important.

.anyway,i dun tink any of the underage kids know where it is..waha

...

Muzdecruz, actually there are more than a few younger people on SOFT.. Check out the "I am..." survey - 37% of SOFT users are under-18.. :) Of course, I'm sure not everyone voted but I guess we can sort of imagine..

http://soft.com.sg/2006/modules.php?name=Surveys&op=results&pollID=14&mode=&order=0&thold=0

But yeah, it was just a suggestion anyway.. Purely for the very selfish reason of standing a higher chance of winning.. Haha.. Haven't seen FV in action for a while.. Would love to see them again... :)

Hey fictionaire_gse, Force Vomit hasn't been active for quite a bit. So it'd be a treat. However, the interesting thing for Britpop fans is that Simon Gilbert from Suede is playing for Futon now.

...

Yeah! I read about it on Futon's website. Nice! And would you believe it, the last time I saw FV in action, Neng was still playing?? I've been away. :)

Free tickets or otherwise, I'll be there.
