1st Post-Anyone do Neck Reset ?

Go to Sound Alchemy. Scott would probably be able to do it for you . Not sure how much it'll cost though. They're located at Excelsior B1, Directly behind TYMC, opp memphis music

Not often you see people recommending GC. Their work ethic is more questioned than any other topic.

Best job done would probably be Malcolm.

i have no connection *ahem* with guitar connection, but i do know that they do quite a bit of restoration-type work on old guitars, so they really might be quite good for this situation.

of course, malcolm is a full-fledged luthier with good feedback so he's a good bet too.

:D heheh. Yes I totally agree. Malcolm is the best, but the most expensive as well (no doubt about that)

All my major repairs go to GC. true maybe their prices are a little high but I appreciate the fact that the job is always well done. If there are any issues I could still go back to them and get it fixed up with no extra charge. it's always best to check the guitars on the spot before bringing them home so as not to cause any problems.

Before any major job is done, Kelvin will explain the procedure to you. if he doesn't, just ask. I guess in that sense, you can be assured that he knows what he is doing.

With regards to ethnics, I don't have a problem with that. I've been going to them for the past 7 years without much problems. I've tried other guitar stores too (Malcolm included). I was never a biased person & everyone has their preferences. My preference is towards GC.

Check out the number of guitar repairs in GC. There is a reason why people keep coming back.

Hello again everyone.

Thanks for all the f/b and recommendations. I'd been away for
a short while so I can't respond after most of your input.

Let's always remember that our input is in the world wide web.
Aliens from light years away can read this. :)

Peace to all bros.

Yo all.

Finally, after a long search in the whole of Singapore (well, almost) had the neck reset done by KC in Zen Guitarwerkz for a mere S$250!!! I'm glad that I'd found him and he did a real proper neck reset for me n tilt back the neck angle a little n now my guitar is at my favorite action height n it plays like butter. He had posted it below.

KC, if you are reading this, the neck reset worth e-v-e-r-y c-e-n-t of it.

Guys, those who are having the same headache with their guitars like I did should give him a call. If not for my workload, I should had post this the day I brought her back home.

Thanks Jim, I'm glad you are enjoying the guitar.

I price my repair prices based on the man hours and I also compare it to the rates american luthiers are charging. Brian Galloup I remember charges around 350 USD. Most neck reset prices would fall between 250 -450 USD. So my 250 SGD is what I think is a fair rate, after all I am not a world class guitar tech who's toured the world with rock stars.

Keep playing,
KC

Hey Dude, didn't knew you replied to this. :)
Say, from the way you charge, I can only say that you are a fast, accurate guitar tech with very reasonable charges if compared to here below.

After all, I think you are one of the very few here in this country who can do real professional neck reset on acoustic guitars.
Thank you and thank God that we acoustic lovers have people like you around.

I might have a 2nd axe coming to you after my OOT.

Brought a Eastman E10D from the trip.
Those who own this guitar or had tried this guitar before, I would like to hear more from you.

Thanks
