13 Year old dad.

People. don't impose your own perceived set of moral values on other people.

Since he's a father, he's got to be responsible. Afterall, you have to be responsible for your own actions.

i heard a british girl became a mom when she was 12 then her daughter became a mom at 12 too,so the british girl became a grandmother at only 24!!

this boy's my new idol man. :D Damn this reminds me of the time when my mom found out i had a gf, she went over the roof. Well, the difference between the mindsets of ang mohs and kia su singaporeans i guess

i guess we could all learn and take something from this...

but its great that the kid is blessed with a great family support and even the social services are helping out. Can see the brothers bringing home the pampers all smiles!

Not everyone in this world are born lucky, so treasure what great things God has blessed us. :)

peace.

I think tis kid watched too much 'stuff' on da net
n decided 2 experiment one fine day if his Gf....

still can't believe he's a dad at 13..
wonder wat his parents are feelin bout em....

What I'd like to know is how he managed to impregnate a girl before he hit puberty?

It's not uncommon for boys to reach puberty at his age.

Just like it is not uncommon for boys and girls to be married off at such age in certain parts of the world.

It is strange to us cos to our society, and UK, it's a taboo. But is it actually wrong? He is obviously not ready to be a dad, but that's cos the society he's in never made him ready to be a dad at that age.

What worries me more is that with media and public scrutiny, him, the teenage girl, and the families involved get discriminated for this.

Im quite touched/impressed by the rest of the guys who had claimed to be the dad.

Really responsible whom is not worry about the consequences. But 13 years old is just too early to have baby. But in other part of the world, children are destined to get married at young age.

Hope the couple will do well in bringing up their child. And 1.1 million will be given to the family to have their story shared. :)

with regards to the 16 year old boy saying he had sex with the girl with the consent of her parents, i'm speechless. seriously. with the consent. JEEEEEEZ!

1.1 mil is cheap. British tabloids could have afforded more.

Emochick: Well, we don't know if it's "consent" or "just do whatever the hell what you want cos we given up on you" now, do we? :)

Many things can be twisted and obscured in this world.

This obviously is the height of irresponsibility.

And their lack of responsibility clearly will adversely affect many people, apart from themselves.

The million quid they've gotten can be squandered and disappear overnight but little Masie will bear the brunt of having parents who obviously can't think for themselves. The emotional scarring will be tremendous.

I don't think this is an isolated case but when you think about it - what if other kids of their age perceive it as a cool thing to do (being parents at barely 15 and the possibility of getting money for their story) and suddenly, we see all the Bart Simpsons in the world becoming fathers?!

What if these boys don't come from families who cannot afford to support these poor babies? This is a very probable outcome of the irresponsible acts of children who don't even know what the term 'financially' means!

And the social implications will be these children (who suddenly become parents) will be ostracized by society, feel pressured by the burden and responsibility of being parents when they themselves have not emotionally and physically matured, and cannot even take care of themselves, let alone a baby.

So, what happens? These young parents end up divorced, or worse commit suicide, and these poor, little babies grow up with a single parent, their own lives shaped by the absence and real love and responsibility of adult parents, thus possibly and most probably they themselves end up being emotionally, developmentally and socially handicapped.

Most people perceive this kind of thing simplistically ie. morals or sex, which I find alarming because the big picture is indeed quite horrifying. If you have the time to look at statistics right here in Singapore, the divorce rates among young parents are at its all time high, and the broken and fighting families (fighting for custody and alimony) is not going to shape a generation of leaders or at least useful young people who can contribute to society.

The children of these broken families will most likely be your next robber/murderer/drug abuser/molester/rapist/cheats or whatever.

Plenty of children from broken families turn out just fine. Plenty of people from two parent families turn out to be f..k ups. You might want to climb down off your moral high horse.

adjective

1 : having a high probability of occurring or being true : very probable <rain is likely today>

Like you said, plenty of children from broken families turn out fine, but I say the probability and likeliness is higher in this kind of case because children tend to emulate their parents. I am not saying that they definitely will.
