1 band to say ur influence

pardon my ignorance, what is lo-fi

The lo-fi and black metal going hand in hand statement was sort of a joke actually.. But if u r really askin me whats lo-fi then its just low fidelity, where not all frequencies of a sound can be heard when projected by a lo-fi unit, eg. transistor radios, old school megaphone players.. Whereas ur current stereo system, entertainment system, etc.. is hi-fi where it is hi-fidelity...

I knew Sub was a metalhead when I saw the self pasted Darkthrone sticker on his SG.. Goes to show that not all metalheads esp those Black Metal ones r into lo-fi.. Hehe...

there's a convenient association between black metal & lo-fi, i embrace the genre but bad tone remains as bad tone. if you've been in the black metal scene long enough, you'll hear the bands progressively repenting to embrace 'tone' as a whole. even the severely under-produced Darktrhrone has done better (albeit slight) with every successivel release.

also, there's a stereotype WRT Black Matal- proponents are gear ignorant. well, not me...
