Wad cymbals do u guys have...

Wow $267? Great price! Are you sure about selling the Evo to get it though? Why not convince your parents to get you the CoD as a Christmas present? Or like get them to pay half or something.
 
I ended up not selling the EVO ride. Decided to keep it after all. I might still get the CoD though. Still on the fence, but leaning towards yes. heh. :p

I'd keep the Evo. The Evo's a fantastic ride, unless it doesnt work for you? Sure it does though. I urge you to try out the CoD before making your mind up though. Damn fine cymbal, but it's not for everybody. I'm still deciding if I should drill it for rivets. 2 would be perfect, I reckon.
 
Yeah, I was playing with the Evo just now, and I decided not to sell it because I like it too much. :p

I agree, the CoD looks like it would sound great with rivets! Bostondrum on youtube have a video of them playing one with rivets, and it sounds really great! I'd probably get a PRO-MARK rattler or something and put it on though, if I get it.

My birthday is actually coming up in several days, so maybe my parents could contribute to the cymbal as a nice present. :D

Yes! The one at Bostondrums kills with rivets. I tried my DIY rattler on mine, think it was overkill actually. Rivets are the way to go for the CoD, not the rattler. The rattler made it sound a little dead.

I started out with a PST3 cymbal pack and I'm upgrading (or as I like to think of it, Bonham-ifying) from there, planning to get a 18" Paiste 2002 Crash first and then replace the PST3 crash and hats with their 2002 equivalents, including Sound Edge Hats.
