the story goes like this,
i was surfing around soft.com.sg and buzz into this thread, the "music mania" thread inviting people to play for the gig. i have heard about the "music mania" but i didnt went for any before cause i know mix gener gig will be a total chaos.but then it was a opporunity so i decided to sign up for the gig. a few days later we were inform that we got in the gig which was 2 weeks after, we were excited and talk alot about gas haus until..... within this short notice my band got nothing to do but to rush ourselves. we give in everything, time, money, even pain and tear(within this 2 weeks of rushing causes many disagreement that lead to fights in the band as we all are under heavy stress), but we still endure and finally play that day as a band on stage.
so, we wasnt inform about anything except 1 day before the gig about our time slot and stuff like that. we were also told to reach the place around 2pm for a sound check which was a trick. during the pass week we wasnt inform anything, the organizer only call and chase us to sell thoese tickets which are a totally rip off(<-- qoute this sentence) to our poor friends. so we did try to sell ticket the best way we can and on that day we turn up as said on 2pm juz to found out that we have been tricked. so we waited and waited and waited until 3.30pm when they suddenly said the gig have started and all of us was like "wtf?". my band was playing late after so we waited and waited and waited again for hours. this time i watched every crew, i watched the set up, i look around the room, till the time i step on stage, this is the time i realise everything, i understood everything,i need to tell everyone.when my band went on stage, juz like other band, our sound had been messed up.i dont know if its just one bad day for gas haus or what, but it just took me one day to understand them.my own theory.
ITS ALL A SCAM.
1: the sound is not set to volume or a perfect tune/tone. it was juz rubbish and randomly adjust. we as an experiance band also cant do anything to preset the stuff ourselves as it was all pump into a main mixer control by an ang moh guy who dont bother to do his job.
2:like all other bands,we cant barely hear ourselves and the sound projected by the amp are all messy and fucked up
3: the mic is like barely on, u cant hear the vocalist sing, and if u do, itz set to a pitch so high it irritates ppl
4:the guitar sound like cows fighting each other, u barely hear anything but random heavy bass riff and irritating sharp notes
5:the bass is screwed, u cant even barely feel the bass and if u do it sounded like some guy juz shit his pants on stage
6:the drum is not tune and set in place, and even if the drum is all mic u cant hear a single shit only irritation noise from the broken hihat and itz really irritating
7:i was so irritated the whole day i wish i got a gun so i could shoot myself and the people playing on stage
8:this is the worst place ever gig. 50times worst then street set-up and outdoor gigs.
9:and the "soundman" dont really bother to do his job
10: the crew and people working there are so unfriendly and selfish. they wont listen to you unless u talk to them cause u wanna buy a drink.
11:AND WTH? THE BAND IS PLAYING BELOW AND DIRECTLY ABOVE THEM IS A BIG SCREEN PROJECTING “EPL” AND WORLD SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIP?
so as usual my band screwed up. after that i understood everything... "THEY DON'T CARE"
they are juz selling bands off, they make us sell expansive tickets to all our poor friend who came with good support but turns out in a disappointment.now i am feeling really guilty and disappointed.
and i am gonna expose them now
lesson 1:
how can some one organize a gig and turns out like this?
they dont care
how can someone organize a mix gener free for all gigs when they dont audition never heard before bands and let them run their trendy stuff on stage when they cant barely play for shit?
they dont care
how can the sound be in a mess and 3/4 of the time he soundman still in his bar with his friend talking trash?
they dont care
how can they even call themselves the organizer like that? they are the worst organizer i ever seen.
when i was on stage i took a look around the room. 3/4 of the people in the room are just bands trying to wait for their turn to play. 1/4 are groupies like mine tricked to buy their tickets.
and what do they only care about?
MONEY
my conculsion:
they created this gig for the sake of themselves. the tricked bands like us to perform and for what reason? to make us help sell expansive tickets to all our friends.think about it. no audition? pushing us to push the sales?
and when the band turns up, they dont really give the fuck about us. just let us make a fool out of ourselves, we helped them tricked money from our friends already, we have no use to them now, so why bother so much?
messed up set-up? no work done?
ever wonder why now audiance turn up? and no one ever return 2 times to watch another gig?
please people from the scene please spread the message, gas haus is using us. they are killing the scene. please dont get tricked by them anymore. open your eyes and see. they are using the scene as a rip off, they are eating our culture. they are using us and selling the bands. they juz wanna make their own profit out of innocent people like us. they use us the young, inspired and that we could easily belive in them becuz of our young enthusiasm.
please spread the words. dont let them kill us . we are still running strong!!!
