"Like" function on individual post removed?

heyya james, i'm missing the like fuction that was available on individual post already!! haha where did they go? they're kinda cool, likes makes the place more friendly! =D

I find the display of the "like" thing to be very distracting. There's enough in the way of actual post content already, what with the user's metadata and signature (which are still ok). At least keep it to the side or something.
