I had my studio monitor speaker which is active. Whenever I tried to turn on the light from other room, I got the sudden POP sound which is very loud, this goes for turning off the light too.

It always happen this way whenever the light is on/off. I tried to move my electrical cable to another main socket, but it still persist and yet softer then before.

Before I had 2 studio monitor speaker cables plug to the same multiple extension socket and then to the main socket. The POP sound was so loud that it was so horrifying! Wondering if anybody into such situation?

If it continue, the monitor speaker lifespan will get shorten.. :(

Really need a electrician expert to guide me.... :(

I managed to find the problem. Cabling problem. Even thou I had separated the audio and electrical cables aside, POP sound is still heard. And when I changed to another cable, sound disappear!

Apparently, my friend told me that it might be the unshielded 1/4" jack cause the problem. And yet, the most frustration is I got this cable at quite a high cost previously. Its Monster Cable Performer 500. And Performer 100 doest cause the prob at all.

Anyone know where to get a connector shield to cover the connector?

simlim square/tower i guess. i make all my cables with suang huat, the guy named dickson at simlim square. so far no problems with them at all.

Will the person able to fix my Monster Cable? Hoping that everything will run good after putting the Connector Shield.

How much does he charge you per cable with connector?

I'm thinking of fixing 2 cables of 1/4" and RCA. Current one give me sound problem. Time to do a new connector man.

hmm this one i don't know already. i'm out of the electrical cables league. you'll have to personally go down and ask. I can't remember what floor / unit is his shop. it's at the "back" lift lobby one of the floors. you go check the info counter for the shop named "Suang Huat trading" or something. but don't take my recommendation for granted, do walk around simlim tower too and ask around.

20¢ worth

as far as i know, is your electrical phasing where you got your speaker power from. what you can do is try puting your light plug or your speakers plug in other plug and hope it's not in the same cabling. :) good luck. or try buying a UPS for your speakers. might help. :)

all electrical was in different socket. but using another cable do not call this problem... UPS... expensive thou :?

Well, from what I know when I first built my own studio, and helped my friend to build his studio too, this problem is caused by many of your different AC outlet, incl. your studio's one, are wired in the same phase. You must ask a specialised eletrician to help you rewire your studio's AC outlet wiring to a seperate individual phase from any other AC outlet avaliable in your home. They will know what to do. This not only eliminate the POP noise, but also helps prevent those unwanted buzzing noise away from your gears when other non-studio eletrical appliances is switched on in your other AC outlet of your home.

I read about it regarding to 2nd phase of electricity. But somewhat I felt it will cost alot  I will drop the idea off for that.

As for now, I will head back to sinamex to get my question ask regarding to cable problem. Just can't understand the reason why Performer 100 doesn't create such pop sound as compared to Performer 500.

Regarding to Power Conditioning as I am thinking of, where can I find it and how much does it cost? I read about Furman on site too. Most imptnt is the cost. Everything is Vitamin M.

I had to get new cabling as its time to change one... But I forgotten how to solder it....but, will be trying out myself. All I need to know is which cable is good for audio? And which connector is reliable? I needed 2 x Unbalance to Unbalance and 2 x Unbalance to RCA. These are for my mixer to sound card.
And also, where can I find the solder iron?

my samson power conditioner costs $180 from the time i got it 4 years back.

furmans / phonics should cost around $200+ since they're better branding etc.
