Singapore Jazz legend Jeremy Monteiro & Alberto Marsico announce the release of their brand new album, “Jazz-Blues Brothers”, under Verve Records on 12 September 2014.

Jeremy Monteiro, the best-known jazz pianist in South-East Asia and recipient of Singapore’s highest award in the Arts, the Cultural Medallion in 2002 is releasing a new album through Verve Records.

Jeremy has played with many jazz greats such as James Moody and Toots Thielemans and continues to perform regularly with two-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist Ernie Watts who he has collaborated with since 1987.

He has recorded 30 jazz albums for labels such as Warner-Elektra-Atlantic (WEA), the American audiophile label First Impression Music (FIM), PolyGram, Sangaji Music (Indonesia) and his own label Jazznote Records (Distributed in SE Asia by UMusic). As a session player in the 1970s and 1980s has played on more than 200 albums for pop stars in Asia, including Frances Yip and Teresa Teng.

In 1988, he performed a landmark concert with his band Monteiro, Young & Holt on the mainstage of the Montreux Jazz Festival on a show that included Chick Corea, The Yellow Jackets, Crowded House and Mongo Santa Maria. Montreux Jazz Founder Claude Nobs hailed the concert as “one of the best shows of the first 22 years of Montreux”.

Alberto Marsico (Organist, Co-Leader) hails from Turin in Italy is one of the most sought after jazz and blues organists in Europe. Legendary Hammond organists Jack McDuff, once told Alberto after recording his composition Jack-Pot, “Alberto, you’ve got Hammond blood!”

The album was recorded in November of 2013 at the famed Lion Studios in Singapore.

It was mixed and mastered in March of 2014 by ace Italian engineer Carlo Miori at Only Music Studios in Turin who is an expert in recording Hammond organ and has recorded albums by Verve artist Fabrizio Bosso, including his 2013 album “Purple”.
