Which of these pedals is a better booster for leads in a dirty amp??

and is the ZW-44 or SD-1 better for a overdriven riffing pedal ?

i could be getting both (1 lead booster, 1 overdriven riff pedal)

i only play metal and hard rock.

zw-44 will get u light od. VERY light. can't play 12 stones stuff with that i can assure u. not versatile, can't play metal, but if u want overdriven riff, then it's the way to go.

wad amp are u using btw?

metal, hard rock, od, the electro-harmonix metal muff covers these styles with relative ease. plus the three essential freq knobs, imo a steal.

I'm gonna get a randall RX30d veri soon. I have a GT2(enuff for the metal dis i need) as well but i wan mainly a booster for leads and riff .

so even with the GT2, the zw-44 is no gd?

i also saw a thread a few days back abt shredcow saying its good for a low-gain boost but wat abt a high-gain 1 ?

its good for boosting an already overdriven amp, or in this case your gt2 into a higher gain territory.

better than the sd-1 i presume, after all, it is a "tweaked" sd-1.

from what i understand, the ZW od was designed with the sd-1 in mind, since zakk used to use the sd-1.

so its basically a tricked out sd-1 with abit more gain and bass.

The ZW44 is an improvement over the stock SD1 in terms of having fuller tone but retains a tight punchy bite.

Its as you said you would use it for, to BOOST an already overdriven amp OR stack with other distortion/od pedals, A good booster.

no promises! but i'll try that is IF i get them lol. From the looks of it , the ZW-44 is winning the SD1 by quite a mile.

well... if humbuckers , i prefer SD1/ZW44... the TS tended to smoothen things out and add fatness, which isn't what you want for metal no? You would want clarity and bite.

i do own a TS-7 now, it jus doesn't have the clarity and the kind of overdrive i'm looking for but i have onli try it on a 15w fender solid state amp so far, so i'll make a better judgement when i get my 30w randall amp with a effects loop(even if it still solid state,it got 2 b better with the loop rite?)

if your gonna use a booster you use it infront of your amp not in the loop.

the whole point is to push your preamp putting it in the loop bypasses that and then your missing the whole point.
