ZEN Guitar Vs Samick Guitar Vs TGM Guitar

hmm...what's bad about Zen guitar? i own one Zen acoustic and its sound pretty good to me. TGM Guitars perhaps are budget guitars....people who just started learning or just dont wish to spend too much for a guitar..hope that helps...

samick i'd say.

where to get samick these days eh? Used to see alot of them at davis few years back.
i never heard of zen. where do they sell this? zen guitarworks?

Zen is at Zen Guitarworks. Saw them but they didn't look good... Samicks definitely look better. I think pre-Greg Bennett Samicks are very hard to find these days (I have one and it's very sweet!) but Davis brings in Greg Bennetts though.

thanks all for providing so many useful comments.
No comments on TGM Guitars?
what's the cheapest price range(for beginner guitarists) for them?
Zen-$150-$200?
TGM-$100-$150?
Samick-$180-$250?

Hmmm.. Not sure about TGM because like the Zens, they don't look very good. At least to me.. As in they really look like budget instruments. Of the three, Samick has the best quality and is more bang-for-buck. You can also stick with Samick if you go professional. Greg Bennett has endorsees and they have higher-priced models too. (Solid top, Grover tuning pegs, etc)

looks aside, tgm guitars are just not up to it.

and today i managed to get a glimpse of the zen. no offence, but it looks cheap. can be associated with the likes of tgm, suzuki, and dunno what other funny names there are out there. and with that kind of price range, they just wont give u a good sound.
however if u wanna get a good guitar at a cheap price, i saw this strat copy at standard value, that makes me go wow. i think its brand is Smash (pardon me if im wrong).

suzuki actually has some good guitars. i used to own their SG and damn, it had a good sound. i kinda regretted selling it off:(

Like what i mentioned earlier, TGM Guitars are budget entry guitars for people who want to learn the guitar at an affordable price. Great for people who are just want to try out guitar playing and for those new guitarists. As you gradually improves, you may then consider better quality guitars at higher price tag. But i guess, to answer your questions, price of tgm<price of ZEN<price of samick. CHEERS!

i own a suzuki sg, actually...

and i agree, it's sustain and tone is really good actually... but then again, the definition of "good" is up to one's own preference...

Suzukis aren't bad.. They look better than SXs, if you ask me.. Never played one before but I won't mind owning one. And I agree with Velvetrevolver.. Zens and TGMs are similar in that they look cheap.. Samicks are at least a whole step higher in terms of quality and build.

TS, are you looking for electric or acoustic? If electric, then Smash and Timbre at Standard Value are also recommended.

Samick Valley Arts series? But honestly the Greg Bennett series are decent.

I once had my hand cut by the frets from a TGM guitar. Yes, the frets were done that bad. THAT bad.

Haha I'm tempted to post a WTB add for a Greg Bennett AV1 but don't know if I should. I do know the TR1 is very nice though. Like an SG but it's thinner and wider. And it looks and feels just awesome!
