Zahid Ahmad, a well-known drummer, will be conducting a masterclass drum session at J3 Music Studio, from 2pm to 5pm this coming Saturday 20 Mar 2010.
A widely respected session drummer from Malaysia, Zahid Ahmad was born in 1966 and fell in love with percussion and drumming at the age of ten. In the late '70s he joined a band (Split Times) and released a handful of albums. Eventually, Ahmad went on to become a resident drummer for Roslan Aziz Productions, and -- notably -- a session drummer and live drummer for Sheila Majid. With Majid, Ahmad would be able to bring his talents to a worldwide audience, touring in such nations as Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore. In the '90s, Ahmad added Musical Director and lecturer to his resume -- which by then included producer, the latter of which was a job taken at University Teknologi Mara teaching percussion and drumming. Next, Ahmad could be found lecturing on topics percussive at the National Arts Academy.
So, to all aspiring drummers and musicians, this is a great opportunity for you to see and learn in person about the great man and his talent.
Ticket is available at $40.
