Your gear buying/GAS ever caused any trouble/inconveniences?

I've never started a thread in Kopitiam before so I'm hoping you guys can patronise me. I've always wondered if GAS or your gear buying (not necessarily excessive) have caused any trouble or inconveniences?

I'll tell you what I mean by going first. Back in NS when my GAS kicked in but on a measly NSF payroll, I was forced to eat home-made meals and sometimes, bread and water. Totally not worth it thinking about it back then.

On top of that, I do end up getting nagged when the UPS/USPS man comes around. Seems like my family knows what's coming when they see the delivery man showing up from time to time.

I've got a friend who's engaged and HAHA he almost end up losing his fiance when he blew almost like 2k on his trip to HK.
HAHA you know who you are, bro!

Do share man, I want to hear all about them.

i haven't reached that stage yet. But i'm Gasing for a Bassman RI so badly that i can't even complete my project assignments on time.

damn it.

Yup, it's a little bit of a problem for me. My parents think I'm wasting my money purchasing all my gear when I should be "saving up to be able to provide for my girlfriend/wife/family" (not married yet, too young to do so, lol) but I'm like, argh. Not as if I blow all my savings on it.

Although it does cause some inconvenince for me. I'm often torn between saving the money (I enjoy saving) or spending it on gear (I enjoy my audio gear! :X)

if your close ones are understanding towards your gear-inclined behaviour, there shouldn't be a case of intolerance & severance.

yea, when i was saving for my strat, i gotta put alot of things outta my life, for eg go out less, meet girlfriend less, stop smoking, eat less, cheaper food and stuff, and work like a dog..
but hell yea it was tough but dam it was worthit... and yea my girlfriend constantly nags on how much i spend on my babies.. but somehow i manage to psycho her to playing the guitar and now she loves my strat too.. so yea all ended well :) just that the aftermath isnt very friendly towards your wallet :s

luckily, gentlemen are not the nagging type, otherwise we'd tell the ladies how much they spend on cosmetics each time, especially this brand name of products:

and guess what i get to enjoy that brilliant bang for buck acoustic now.. best of all(haha im saying it again) i got her to try my strat.. it was simply magic man.. she loved it.. pretty dam stunned with her reaction lol
2nd best thing... she comes over to my place alot more often for "lessons" now haha now that's what i call killing a 10 birds with 1 stone :s

mwahahaha, men are not nagging type, but sometime more girlie than woman. Especially when having to make comparison for what women can spend on. Almost on the same level like women, but presented in another different way.

i guess to endure the nags and the period of hardwork whn you save for your guitar is something that would make you cherish em more :)
