Your favourite sticks

funnie how you said everytyme hard to get 5A in yamaha..
coz when i go there usualli, they are there.. hahahahah
so usualli i get wat i want..
only recently havent been able to get wat i want..

yo alvyn, the pro-grips are in??
you know.. the promark stix wif thin layer of rubber grip?

Yeah...

Everytime the 5As are there.. I am using them as well, Promark 5A nylon tip American Hickory Millenium 2 or something like that...

The sticks are not bad, just that i want a round tip instead of a tear drop..

Ahead 7A, (Joey Jordison) for me. light and easy to use lulz... and Zildjian Hickeory 5A, which goes nicely with the cymbals and highhat.

i prefer something lighter, anything heavy will tire me out, so i picked a 7A for the Ahead. works nicely yea

promarks are the lightest stick makers i known so far for 5a's... heaviest is zildjians which chips easily... vater comes 2nd... :D

Seriously off-topic , but Jeno, Please tell me you didnt get influenced into using "Lulz" instead of lols or the normal l-o-l from 4chan.

I'm using Vic Firth 5B... my 1st sticks... from wad i see here it looks like Vic Firth most popular? My teacher prefer rigel tip. anyone knows where to get them?

i use the vater 7A i think. i like the lighter sticks now, but generally anything with the 7A format will work for me. A prerequisite however is i really neeed a ball tip, i sound clean on drums and cymbals and i can roll faster.

For me,

5A..a little too thin....5B....too thick..so have to find in between...

Thickness around .580" which few model has...

Example I use Vater Fusion, VC 55A,3A,1A,F1...

my first sticks are Zildjians El Negro Hernandez Sig.

1st Practice & playing Pop/Funk/Rock - I got a Vater John Blackwell Sig.

2nd Practice & playing Pop/Funk/Rock - I got a Vater Fusion.

Currently (Jazz/Fusion/Latin) - Pro Mark Michael Carvin
Great balance IMO. Good definitions of cymbals when striked. At the moment, my "Ride" stick has two sides to it, one side a little chipped off while the other still rounded. Gives me more tonal values on the cymbals and i use it according to the mood of the song. Well that's how i use my sticks. hahaha...

Anyway has been using the Pro Mark stick for nearly 4 years, still not broken. I also sometimes hit hard on my drums hee....

I recently made the switch from Pro-mark Mike Portnoy sticks to Vater Pro-rock sticks. They are very similar in terms of feel but the Vaters are much, much more durable and cheaper in fact. Save money and the environment (i will need to go through less sticks) at the same time. :)

i like the vic firth 5A nylon tip. the thickness and length of the stick is just nice for me. i like the nylon tip as it gives the cymbals a nicer ring. yea thats my favourite

Used to use the Zildjian Tre Cool Sig sticks but found them a tad too heavy for faster playing. Huge sounds, but good for songs not as demanding in terms of speed

Made the switch over to the Vater Session Wood, and been using it since =)

using 7a anti vibes. Although the bad points such as NO butt hitability and also a very different feel, It saves my fingers. I switched to these ever since my fingers' bones starting to hurt horribly when i play for more than an hour. They help quite a bit:D

my favorite drumsticks would be...............

LA Special by Promark drumsticks! its cheap, its hickory and its from ProMark!
i rimshot alot and it 'eat' my sticks faster and by using this cheap sticks, i cant be bother abt shredding my sticks.

of course in live situation i will always have my Tama H8A Hickory sticks with me. Well, i cant afford Vic Firth, Promark, and Vater sticks. They are just too overpriced here.

this LA special also get a good review on eBay buying guides:
eBay Guides - Drum Sticks-dispelling the myths and what to look for
