Your Abang is busy packing his bags for Los Angeles tonight so I have the pleasure of exhibiting what you missed at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall in this humble, picture-laden post. Well, I’ll be honest – it’s mostly going to be some gratuitous shots of Karen O from now on …

As a neon-splattered sexy beast …

A glittery pom-pom dancer …

How (literally) cool, is that?

Then there was the darling of an audience, singing every word – and looking very much like the Na’vi from Avatar in this particular picture …

I particularly fancied the way some plastered the Y-shapped confetti on their faces. Certainly gives new meaning to the term, Y-fronts, no?

Yeah yeah yeah, what an awesome gig this early in 2010. Three words to those of you who missed it: NEENER, NEENER, NEENER.

I’m not going to leave you high and dry though, here’s a sampler of the gig:

always thought they were some vacuous hipster band but the gig made me feel otherwise. sure enough they are great entertainers n performers but the songs are really excellent, bringing to mind the whole late 70s-early 80s New york new wave/no wave bands like Blondie etc. Never heard noise that was so enjoyably accessible hahaha.............killer stuff
