Yamaha DG Stomp!

i used to have it back in 2002-2004 period. The patches, amp/cab models in it are pretty decent sounding. Back when amp modeller stompboxes were still new thing, the dgstomp was one of the more under rated one. The other 2 manufacturers with similar product were line 6 and johnson.
hehe, line 6 has came a long way from then.
Other then dg stomp, the other one, which imho, is one hell of a gem stompbox effect from yamaha, is the UD stomp. That one, imho, till now, i have not really seen much delay in a stompbox format, to be able to do what it has within. If you do come across it in japan and the price is decent, grab it. It used to sell at 499 at yamaha shop at plaza sing
The other stomp series, aka the magic stomp, is also a awesome effect stompbox from yamaha, I had 3 once, but the LCD display all failed me.
Hehe, while imho, the stomp series effect from yamaha been really steady, i have to say that their support for it sucks to the max, in discontinuing the product after a short while.

So in comparison to the Line 6 stuff now, it sucks? From what I noticed in the few demos on YT, the bass is kinda flubby on the high gain settings. I know it's not really a fair comparison, but how would you compare it to the Nova System? That's what I have now, but the drive just sucks with humbuckers, but sounds fine with s coils.
Don't really intend to change the whole thing, but just wanna see what other options there are out there.
Most importantly has to be compact, similar or smaller size than the NS, preferably without exp pedal

hehe, whether if it sucks or still relevant, it is subjective. Hard to say, without looking at the context of usage (as recording tool or effect into amp, in effect loop of amp etc), what sort of instrument being use with etc.
I have never tried nova system or much of the newer guitar based effect. So cant say much bout the sound.
The size of the stomp is smaller than the nova system for sure, but its also a big chunk of metal with the enclosure. I have sold off the dg stomp many years liao, but for size comparison wise, i still have a UD stomp thats of similar size to the DG and put it side by side to a line 6 pedal.

Heh, i had a yamaha drum machine(from 2001) breaking down after 10 years, recently. Hopefully the UD can last longer.
