Just snagged a Roland XV3080 on ebay for $620 including shipping.

yeah looked like it to me... was looking for an all-rounded module with a focus on strings which i think Roland excels in. I'm familiar with the Roland synth structure hence my bias towards a Roland module. I can always make my own patches.

I prefer the plug and play of hardware synths as opposed to software.. haven't gotten round that paradigm yet.

Erm, not to sound a like a wet blanket but there was a better deal a couple of months back.
BRAND new (ie unopened) XV-5080 in box for about $1k on ebay.

nah i think that's the going rate for the 5080... think there were a couple on auction for around 400+GBP last week which is around SGD$1k excluding shipping... but didn't think I needed to spend that much though....

Some people locally were asking $1k for the 3080.. and $1.3k for the 5080..

I received the unit yesterday... very good condition.. yippee.

The pads and strings are awesome.. just what I need..

The piano patches cannot make it tho.. haha.

Haha, Roland intentionally cannot make it the piano patches

so you got to get the SRJV or SRX piano or keyboard cards !!!

I got my Yamaha P200 to cover the pianos so don't need..

The E.Pianos on the 3080 are nice too.
