Hi guys, I am selling a 1991 MIJ RG550 in Coral Mist, an uncommon colour. Maple neck AND fretboard. Given the age of the guitar, you can expect some dings, but the most obvious one is a crack in the finish at the back. It's only cosmetic and does not affect playability.
Also, I had it refurbished earlier this year at Guitar Workshop so it's not stock. The pots, 5-way-switch have been replaced and wiring as well. H-S-H Pickups have been changed to DiMarzio Evolution, even the single coil one. A similar colour Tree-Of-Life inlay sticker has been pasted onto the fretboard. The tuners have been changed to gold-colour Gotoh tuners, and the bridge has been changed to gold-coloured Gotoh as well. The original Edge bridge will be included, except that it is in pieces as I took it apart so that I could use the same trem block. Pickguard has also been replaced from a black to a white one.
Comes with original Ibanez hardcase that I bought separately. Everything going for $700. If you do your calculations, a whole set of DiMarzio Evolution pickups will cost $200 second-hand. The hardcase is another $100. Tuners and bridge will cost another $200 or so. That's already $500, not including the amount I spent on rewiring, setting up, straightening the neck, etc. So believe me when I say that this is already cheap. I have to say, it is not for fussy buyers. But if you want a solid Ibanez superstrat from Japan, this is the one that started the Prestige. More photos available upon request. SMS me at 92980224 if you are keen. NO TRADES please, as I am more in need of cash right now. Do not call or PM. Thanks.
