Selling an all-original 1983 lawsuit era Tokai Silverstar SS-50 Stratocaster for $550/- (the guitar on the left in the picture)
Modeled after Fender's 70s CBS 'Big headstock' Strat with 3-bolt neck joint. These vintage Tokai copies proved to be much better in terms of playability, craftsmanship and tone than the guitars that Fender was producing during the CBS era.
This guitar is now rare. Even the famous Ochanomizu Street in Japan does not have a single one left. The Tokai Silverstars were made only for the Japanese Domestic Market.
Specs:
Model: Tokai Silverstar SS-50 (Following models were available: SS-38, SS-40, SS-48, SS-50, SS-60, SS-80)
Neck: Feels like a modern 'C'
Neck Joint: 3 bolt with micro-tilt adjustment
Color: Metallic Red with thin poly finish
Fretboard: Maple
Fretboard radius: 7.25"
Frets condition: 7/10
Pickups: 'S' Grey bottom pickups (All original)
Trem block: Original STEEL tremolo block with 'made in japan' stamp.
EVERYTHING on this guitar is 100% original from the day it left the factory in 1983.
*volume pot faulty - I will include a brand new Montreux Guitar Parts CTS 250K Volume pot. I didn't replace it as I wanted to keep the guitar 100% original.
Overall Condition: 7/10 (dings and scratches here and there)
