WTB CTS pots and other parts

Hi there

I'm currently looking for these parts to mod. my Epiphone Les Paul:

- a few short-shaft 500k CTS pots (Audio/Log tapered ones)

- Any good tuning heads to recommend? (that would fit an Epiphone without any drilling etc)

- Good quality 3-way Toggle Switch

*** Also looking for a good Luthier to custom slot a Bone nut, re-round the frets etc. Would also like to fix a popped-up Acoustic bridge. Any recommendations? What's their rates like? Heard that there's a guitar tech at Luthermusic who's quite good? ***

Anyone selling these stuffs? Or know where I could get em?
What's the pricing like? And also, any recommendations for brand, parts etc would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance :D

I thought Epiphone Les Pauls require short-shaft pots? Cos the longer-shaft CTS pots are meant for the thicker Gibson Les Pauls?

Btw, Ragus, are the parts cheaper to import than to buy from Davis? (I saw Davis carrying alotta All Parts parts)
Wanna share the cost next time around? We order and ship together?

Cheers all :)

Hmmm yes thats right. I repair stuff and Epiphone uses normal (medium) length thread pot shafts. Gibson would require OEM long shafts ones, but be sure not to get the short shaft ones for your Epiphone... Those are meant for guitars with pickguards like fender, where the pots mount on the 'guard. But vice versa its ok; you can use med length for fender style: juz put another 'choke' nut on the shaft.

Best deal is, as always, check before you get anything, bring the original pots that came with your guitar along; if you still have them; when buying new pots.

Hi Dawn, if you're looking for a few parts and Davis has them in stock, I would get it from there as it is instant. Not sure what you think of their service but I'm quite fine with them. Online ordering is better with larger orders, at least 40us, so as to make the shipping more 'worthwhile'. Sure thing, next time we can order together and save some costs. :) But I'm not looking for any parts at this moment though. :?

You can try getting the pots and switch from Davis first, but they probably won't have the tuners there. If they don't I'll let you know when I'm ordering from Stewmac so we can add in the tuners too. :)

Anyone know of a good lutheir to fix up my guitar?

- Slot a bone nut for me
- Maybe Refretting
- Glue a popped acoustic bridge

etc

Heard that there's a guitar-tech at luthermusic. Rumour has it that he went to some lguitar-building school or something?

Any recommendations? Thanks :D

No bad comments about the luther tech. But the guy at the shop opp sinamex really got attitude. But he builds guitar too, if i'm not wrong.

If you are unlucky, the guy from Luther's that has been mentioned is me.

If you are looking for the CTS pots and switch for your Epiphone to 'convert' it to a Gibson, then you can buy the original Gibson pots (both 300K linear and 500k audio) and the Gibson three way switch from Guitar 77 opposite Davis. I helped them order them in, but they are expensive so decide first whether you want to do this. I would recommend them rather than the Allparts ones from Davis as they will last a lifetime.

If you want the nut/fretwork/bridge work done, I can do them for you, but I am not cheap. If you'd like me to quote you, drop me an email at oddysseus@pacific.net.sg and we can go from there.

cheers,

mark.
