Singapore - July 21, 2005 - Blizzard Entertainment®, Inc. today announced the release of its highly anticipated subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), World of Warcraft®, in Singapore. The announcement is being greeted with excitement in the island republic, where the Warcraft® series is one of the biggest-selling PC gaming brands.* Blizzard has selected iGames Asia as the exclusive distribution and marketing partner for World of Warcraft in Singapore.

World of Warcraft boxes and 60-days prepaid cards will be available islandwide. Players from Singapore will join Australia, New Zealand, and North America on U.S. servers. A broadband connection is recommended for optimum play.

"Gamers in Singapore have always shown tremendous enthusiasm for Blizzard games, so we're thrilled to be teaming up with iGames Asia and releasing World of Warcraft there," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder. "One of our goals has been to make World of Warcraft available to gamers around the world as quickly as possible, and today's announcement is another great step in achieving that goal."

World of Warcraft is currently one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world, with more than two million avid subscribers playing the game in North America, Korea, Europe, and China.** In World of Warcraft, players assume the roles of legendary Heroes and interact with thousands of other players online as they explore, adventure, and quest across a vast world. Whether journeying together or fighting against each other in epic battles, players will form friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory.

An action-packed combat system delivers fast, furious battles against multiple opponents, while minimizing delays between encounters to keep players on the move. A rich, evolving story and questing system will keep players engrossed as the world is regularly updated with new content.

yup when it came out i got the game for 50 us coz my friend was in the US, but in sg it was selling for 120 sing? montly subscription if im nt wrong is 15us... so u do the math...

its fun to level until 60, after that the game becomes repititive and dull.. thats in my opinion of course.. i just play occassionaly now to pass time, pvp and maybe some end game raids once in a while.

Just came back from Sim Lim Square and I'm installing the game now....

The starter pack is $79.90 (inclusive of 1 month game time) while the prepaid game cards are $49.90 which last for 2 months

Hey what team you guys choose to play as? Alliance or Horde? and what server you guys playing?

This is weird...

When prompted to create an account , they brought to the WOW website to sign up. Upon signing up for an account , they requested for my monthly payment method. But the thing is , I get 1 month free when I purchase the game and I can't get to the next step because if I were to select the prepaid game card method , I would have to enter the verification key at the back of the game card which I've not bought yet....

So I just entered the game , entered my battlenet account and now I'm currently downloading the patch...

I did not know that battlenet accounts can be used in WOW....

Eh how come I cannot create account? I don't own a mastercard nor visa and if I select the prepaid card option , I must type in the prepaid card verrification code...

I thought the starter pack has one month free? But I still can't play

oh well I think I'll just splurge another $50 on the prepaid card and get a total of 3 months game time and there goes almost my entire savings. Gonna starve myself from Monday onwards!!!!

I don't wanna ask my friends for their credit card number for the verification process , even though if I choose to switch method of payment after creating an account cause after all , credit card numbers are meant to be confidential...
