Windows XP Outperforms Windows Vista

yes,if you compare the start up time of XP and vista of the same specification you'll find that XP takes a shorter time.

Don't need to think so, proven so - long time ago.

But that's in general. Vista does, however, bootstrap really fast sometimes. Security is better. But err..that's about it.

Vista's audio sub-system and framework = epic fail.

vista nice to look-look only. appearance nice.
but xp is a hell lot better in terms of other stuff. to me lah that is

The only consideration for going Vista is 64-bit. XP x64 is not as well supported (if at all) compared to Vista 64-bit. Although there may be driver issues and software issues, but things are moving fast and catching up. Most complainers are gamers. People who use it for work or audio are not complaining. Most audio applications are already 64-bit with others (VSTis etc) following very rapidly. Audio drivers are also catching up fast - most already support 64-bit. So for audio purposes, 64 bit is probably the way to go. The capacity to support more RAM is very helpful for audio purposes.

Other than that, XP is still the choice for 32-bit environment.

i still think Commodore 64 is still the best...haha=P

yeah...you cant really compare the both...
most people would prefer to downgrade to the xp from the vista if they are doing more programming stuff on it..it seems to be that tons of programmes doesnt work well with the vista just yet..like visual studio..

the vista is great..for like general usuage and all..and yeah it has a nice feel to it...i have business edition loaded for my school's personal computer..its looking pretty good i must say...

i think to be fair vista is meant to be run on machines with at least dual core and 2gb ram.

i remember when XP first came out i had the same debate about windows 98, cause my comp at that time only had 64mb ram (you can see why i had that debate). Call me crazy but windows 98 outperforms either xp or vista if you put in 2gb ram ahhahaha

My laptop has two systems. One is Vista Ultimate and the other is XP Professional... I have a shitload of problems with Vista, and its very, very laggy. Its interface is also kinda cool but it gets irritating very fast.

So yeah, XP gets my vote hands down.
