Haiz.. Too many things affecting Federer's game..
Firstly, Federer is getting old! 26 years of age is NOT the prime age for tennis players.. On the other hand, Nadal is at his "blooming" age, where he will soar to greater heights.. Federer was lucky when he bloomed; all the pros were at the age he is now or even worse (so Federer to Agassi is like Nadal to Federer).. His only true rivals were Roddick and Hewitt, whom he quickly overpowered..
Second, Nadal has improved A LOT.. He spent plenty of time to develop his forehand and backhand.. He already has impressive footwork, now he is overpowering Federer, especially since his balls have plenty of spin.. And he is more experienced now.. You rarely see him doing drop shots, etc, which he does now, although sparingly.. He has also developed the momentum since Rolland Garros and immediately after that, Stella Artois..
Third, Federer was WAYYYY too emotional.. The last time he was like this was when he was an angry young man (when he broke racquets, had long hair).. He was thinking too much that it was his SIXTH Wimbledon Finals, and thus his dream of breaking the record for 6 consecutive Wimbledons was interfering with his game.. There was too much pressure involved; you can just look at his face and notice that he was very scared indeed.. Not his usual calm self.. The rain gave him time to think, plenty of it, to sit and relax.. Thus his spectacular comeback to 2-2..
All in all, it was a nail-biting match.. They had to work hard for every damn point.. Federer's serve was top notch, but so was Nadal's defense.. Oh well.. There goes Federer's reign..
