for420, of course, back then, they we're not famous, just going around with a cassette tape promo in San Diego/LA... needed a live photog for a press foto... was a great show, and the bands willing sell tickets, coz its how they get the word out and become famous...

i'm old...

Damn, that would have been around 1991 or so... they we're playing at the SOMA, which requires bands playing to sell tickets... in fact, a musician mate of mine is here right now, and we're talking about this thread, and he's like "what are these guys whining about?" Even at the world famous 40 years old Whiskey A Go-Go in LA, bands have to sell $800 worth of tickets just to play on a thursday night, and that's based on a 5 band line-up. We're talking about bands like Van Halen, Motley Crue, The Go Gos (where they got the name) and more... they ALL sold tickets, so until you get as famous as them, youse all gotta pay yer dues...

Sorry all i know i'm really late. i just wanted to ask something.

i replied simply bcos this thread was posted with a biased view on the verge of slander. my point is for the threadstarter to please present the other possible advantages of what has been achieved by those organisers, in order to give credibility to the threadstarter for having considered all factors.

what advantages have these organizers achieved?

(i mean, aside from earning themselves profit.)

i am, in fact, very curious!
