Hey!

i know there are some thread on soft that is similar to this one.

but,
tell me, which artist/guitarist made you pick up a guitar and start learning it?

for me, my guitar idol is Frank Iero from My Chemical Romance(MCR)

although he is not that well known or just a rhythm guitarist, he really made me pick up a guitar.

when i heard their song from youtube, i automatically fell in love with their music. till now!

his favorite guitar was a Epiphone Les Paul Custom (Alphine White) which he named it "Pansy" (R.I.P.)

i really wanted the same guitar as him! untill i found out that one of those guitars cost more than 1k. (or nearly to)

that time, i only had about $450. so, me and my best friend, went to Peninsula and roam around the building. we went into Music Theme and i bought a white J&D Les Paul Deluxe. I have bond together with that guitar, and i will feel sad seeing it go. so, i keep it! till now i have it.

so, tell me/us the guitarist that had made you pick up the guitar and the experience you have when you purchase your very first guitar.

P.S. (Sorry for the long story. once start, hard to stop )

Someone introed me the acoustic guitar and at 1st i lacked motivation but after listening to more rock stuff i got more and more interested! For now its Joe Satriani... His songs are just so emotional and his tone sounds perfect!

the shop owner, haha

it was me that wanted to start playing guitar, after 1yr, im still stuck learning, because i didnt have proper lessons, nvr learn chords, scales and all, just saw tabs and started playing, i also dont know if im playing right or not.

travis richter. (used to be in from first to last). everything about him, was something i've always admire and still am my guitar hero.

Listening to Ozzy--->"what the hell is THAT kind of music?"
checking out his history--->"oh randy rhoads is a guitar legend!"
Check out ozzy during present time--->"woah zakk wylde kicks a$$"
----> check out more metal and eventually got tired of air guitar---> learn the guitar

thats pretty much how it started

Someone bought a beginner acoustic guitar as a Christmas gift for me 4years ago. I didn't want to waste money so i tried learning to play it by myself. It was the best day of my life because i found a special bond with it.

The reason i guess that led me towards electric guitar after that was, Avenged Sevenfold with their 'City Of Evil' album. :)
