I have a few guitars on my list.
Any owners here?

1. Ibanez RGT
2. Parker Fly MOJO (not really neck thru)
3. Jackson SL1 or SL3
4. ESP M-II

:?:

I'd pick the ESP based on tonal preference and workmanship. Jackson's are great too but I do not like the current production of USA Made ones. Not much a fan of new production of Ibanez guitars too. Don't like Parkers.

Maybe you could give us an idea what you're looking for. Best advise for you to try them yourself then post a review here 8)

Neck wider at the upper frets make sense to me. :D

Drop by davis and try some of their signature series ESPs there. Some neck thrus there.

spoken like a true wanna-be. Likes $2-$3K guitars but doesn't have a clue what he's looking for.

RGT is not a model.... it's a line of guitars.....each with it's own specs. Did you bother to check that there are more that 1 version of the M-II neck thru??

ESP- play great, cheap fingerboards/inlays, sound average (actually usually bland especially alder ones), generally overpriced terrible re-sale value. paint flakes at the light impact

RGT - can play great. watch for weight discrepancies and neck warpage. Sound as good/bad as the DiMarzios that are in them. Look much prettier on the outside than what's really inside. Can you decide between the ultra and wizard/prestige neck profiles? Usually thick lacquered neck too. what's with this magnetic hold tremolo edge pro crap? bring back the little white rings!

Parker - uncomfortable. thin thin uber thin neck. no particular sound. too many buttons/knobs/switches/cables for live work esp. where alcohol may be involved. Forget it unless you record or need a piezo. lacks balls...you need pedals...lots of expensive exotic pedals to play anything other than country music. SS frets are cool...sometimes.

Jackson USA SL - heavy, sticky lacquer, big wide neck with big big frets for big big hands. watch for crappy frets and binding. Can do a bit of everything musically but the cheesy graphics will force you to sell sooner than later. Tend to be shrill and with a rubbery low e.

there I just saved you $3k

Whats wrong with the current Ibanez, and USA jackson?

Just don't like the 'specs' even though they claim it's the same as older models. I don't like it but that doesn't mean you won't like it. Personal preference.

For me your guitar is as good as the amp you're playing it with. Well something like that. Haha. You should try it through your setup if you get the chance. Would be better as you can judge them for yourself.

I've tried all of it (except the Parker model you listed I think) and have to say that the ESP was the best sounding one. I tried quite a few Parkers before, didn't bother to know the model as I didn't liked them very much.

G'd luck in your search 8)

I have to say that the ESP guitars (not LTDs) are well made. I'm not saying LTDs are crap though (so lay off my ass LTD fans). I've tried quite a few of their models and have to say there's nothing cheap about it. It's well made and I guess it's priced fairly (if you get it from Davis at a good time). Dunno why Davis sometimes have this fluctuation of prices in their ESP lines.

I don't think anyone can decide for you which you should buy. Try them out for yourself. If you're paying a high amount of money, sometimes it's just not worth it to take risks. From my experience and observation, in Singapore the resale value for all those models ain't that great. Decide wisely young chap.

Was looking at the 27fretter
Nice guitar,

Are the pickups 4 conductor?

If they are, I can probably add a toggle to split the cool rail,

If not, my choice could be any 24 frets model with coil tap.

Not easy to find a guitar...
