which starter pack?

Hi, a friend of mine wants to get an electric guitar. He's narrowed his search down to the ibanez guitar package and the squire guitar package. Which you think is more worth it and better? He plays christian rock, some soft rock and stuff like that. more of a strummer too. Personally i'd get the ibanez one for sound and feel, but i wouldnt say its totally worth the price. but what u guys think?

however, i urge your friend to save a little bit more for a better selection of guitars out there.

i agree with subversion.. better to save a bit more and get something better.. save about 500 and go buy a good second hand guitar... luthermusic classified ads sometimes have some pretty insane deals.. but the way u're talking, i gather u have ur mind set on the ibanez jumpstart package..
