Hello everyone i need your help. I want to buy double pedals but i dunno which one to choose. I have 2 choices : 1) Pearl Power Shifter Eliminator ( Currently now no stock) 2) Yamaha Flying Dragon with Direct Drive. So can u guys help me by giving me suggestions? I have tried the pearl and i really like them because of the smoothness. But because they are currently out of stock i am looking at other alternatives. Thanks. :D

Double Pedals

Hey there though i dun play double pedals, i'm getting them soon too... well been thinking of actually =) I'd say go for the Tama Iron Cobra Double Pedals the Power Glide Series.. I'm currently using the power glide single pedal and its good.. =o) Many other celebrity drummers use the powerglide double pedal too.
But its just a tot ... eh just try them all out i guess and take the one ur most comfortable with...

ohh yea, i use e tama iron cobrass at home now, but hey, honestly, ive tried e yamaha direct drive. ive nth to sae abt it man, theyre good,, veryveryy smooth, beats e iron cobra hands down dude, yea.. tts my personal opinion.. if u haf e budget, i think you should invest in it, plus e direct drive is more durable than the chain drive.. yamaha products ya see :)

you should just go order the eliminators from swee lee.its the same price anyway just gotta put a deposit.if u reali like them then go for it.Dont waste time on other brands.

Just my humble opinion but if u haven't try out Nigel's pedal which is at Excelsior, Drum Resource, then I'm afraid u're gonna miss out on something very incredible. Axis' pedals is the ferrari among pedals as said by Nigel himself and I personnally agrees to it. Its practically weightless, and the feel, rebound are all very pin-point accurate.

try it out at his place. He's a nice guy. :)

Once I've went recce for double pedals with my favourite drummer uncle ( he get lotsa drum freebies and free review of new percussion products) in Australia sometime last year. What we found out is that double chain pedals plays and respond better. We came to a conclusion that pearl eliminator tops amongst, tama followed by dw.
axis is superb and dearly expensive but if compared to eliminator, it does not have the interchangeability. You can actually get all that rolling glide, power glide effect with eliminator.

But the best pedals around is still the drummer itself.
Give Virgil Donati a low end double pedal made in some 3rd world contry and he can play better than the up and coming drummer with a high end pedals.

Cheers

Oh, Pearl Eliminator? I must try! Must tried all the pedals there is in the world~~~ You know where I can find one in sg? :D Oh and btw I agree very much on this:
the best pedals around is still the drummer itself.
:)

the best is still to try yourself, though in singapore i guess that is pretty hard. my advice would be to not get DW or yamaha - sure they have great pedals, but i feel they are overpriced.

if you want to get eliminators, do make sure you try to "book" them or something. cause they sell out pretty fast.

Sorry to invade this thread but I need to clear something up.

For Axis pedals, the cam provided is highly customizable. In fact, it is fully customizable, hence you can get ALL kinds of performance 'feels' from it, from the tama power glide/rolling glide to anywhere in between. This is one of the reasons why it costs so much.

In my experience, the Tama pedals are extremely sturdy are are unlikely to die on you during performances.

For eliminators, I feel that the straps feel better than chains. If there was a direct drive version, it'd be perfect.

DWs are of course, DWs. Very high end, but also waaaaaay overpriced. the 9000s are way too 'smooth', if you know what I mean. Need a lot of control before you can get the hang of it.

So if you're really hardcore, get the Axis pedals. Absolutely the king of pedals. Otherwise the eliminators are the best bang for the buck.
