Let say, you are in the United States right now.
You are ask to choose a MIM Fender guitar and
you have 400 USD, which Fender guitar would
choose....... i mean any Fender MIM guitar...

Classic series, 70s model- then again, it might be more than USD400, otherwise, it's a worthy acquisition...

if you are in the states, do consider getting a model which isn't available here eg: 50th Anniversary Std Strat:

Fender Jimmie Vaughn Strat. Maybe a top up of US$50. But you can't go wrong with it.
agree... get the JV strat.

Great!!!! Thanks Sub. I think i like the Classics series 70s Model much better than the 50th Anniversary Std Strat. Please confirm.. The Classice Series 70s is MIM Fender or Made in USA Fender??

What about Telecaster?? I do like the Squeir Tele, Luther use to have it.. Black and white color... really cool looking.... What do you think about that one....

Classic Series 70s strat is MIM. it's currently my fav mex fender because:

*sweet ash body- gives it a brighter tone but adds bass as well (due to the mass)

*great default pickups- impressive clean & drive...

the Jimmie Vaughan strat is an above average performer but the V-neck profile is a love/ hate affair. i suggest you try both before deciding... 8)

the Buddy Guy is an average performer, i'd rather you get the Robert Cray instead, it comes with Custom Shop Fender single coils- superb!

Thanks Sub. Will check out the Robert Cray Fender guitar.

What about Fender® Standard Strat Satin, at $370 USD excluding
tax, is this a worth buy? I kinda like the look of this guitar. What
do you think? I mean lets set aside Robert Cray Fender.

What about Fender® Lite Ash Stratocaster Guitar with Tremolo,
i love the look, but i have not get the chance to test it out yet?
This guitar come with Seymour Duncan APS-1N Alnico Pro2 staggered (neck), APS-1RWRP Alnico Pro2 staggered (middle), and APS-1B Alnico
Pro2 (bridge). yum! yum! SD PUs......

the Satin Std Strats have been my personal fav, if you can get a HH version (new for 2005) then it'd be interesting because it's not available here in SG. however, if you are a single coil person, the SSS version is more than capable of producing vintage/ contemporary tones.

i personally feel that the Lite Ash models are over-priced since they are Korean, nevermind if they have genuine Duncans by default. however, if you are in love with this guitar, don't let anyone sway you from getting it. 8)

Thanks for the information.

I am thinking of getting the Satin Standard Strats, how much is this guitar cost in Singapore?

I am interested in SSS configuration. I already have a HH guitar.

Interesting, never thought that the Ash Lite is overprice. Now
that you mention, i might reconsidered not getting the guitar.

Cheers
