which guitar to buy?

This is a pointless discussion, really...

Crozzfire, just refer to all the previous discussions on guitars and you'll be able to get a good guitar for church use.

There's no Christian guitar or tone per se.. just get a good axe that will handle the needs for your friend.

Like good cleans? Warm distortion? Good sustain? I don't know.

Yeah it is getting pointless.... i suggest u do abit of research on electric guitars first before asking... i think u dun even know wat are u trying to ask... its like..

A: I dun know wat to eat for breakfast..
B: U shud eat bread
A: oh.. so bread is more welcomed for breakfast?? meaning tht i wont be eating rice or noodles etc... for breakfast....

Maybe u can go to about.com and do a guitar search there... they got some explanation on getting a first guitar...

hmm heard sg's have pretty bad sustain.
is that true. mine has pretty bad sustain
but went for a setup and it became a lil better haha.

what sg u using?? well, sg's typically have the lightbody and heavy neck kinda thing, so it depends on how good the craftsmanship is... and the quality of the wood and how well the joint is done..

i'd prefer not to trust craftsman products.. to me, they're crap... i'd rather get a tokai sg.. kinda hard to find.. but yeah.. epiphone also not bad, but u really gotta test it out..

sgs has good sustain actually, of course not comparable to LPs la heh. i fitted mine with new .10s and adjusted the pickup height properly (sg bridge pickups factory height seems to be damn high i think). plays great now.

oh so strat is probably the most welcomed guitar for christian rock eg.planetshakers?

oh ok...so a squire strat should do the job?

is a craftsman SG sustain gd?

dude......... you're just taking everybody's comment and turning it into a question. just like a baby.

pls take some advice of the rest, try google.com and do some of your own research before asking anymore pointless questions

imho, nvr get squier. they are overpriced, for the same price u can get way better stuff.

as for the craftman, is sway heng one, heng get good one, sway get sai one. try them out, like it take it

using an entry level sg special fitted with neck alnico II pro.
ok lah i havent really tried a lot of guitars plus i always use a small amp at home.
could be my amp settings?

mattleesc, if bolt on necks had bad sustain, then ... wouldn't it be no longer in production on high end Ibanez or Fender guitars? :)

Bring the axe to a good tech

i use a silvertone sg for church haha
if im not wrong one of the guitarists from Hillsong United uses a Gretsch White Falcon

yeah..n the other 1(nigel hendroff) uses a les paul..n sometimes a strat..n sometimes a PRS...

-.-...

depends on the sound u wanna get lah...
my church guitarists..1 use fender mex strat,1 use a fender american 1980's tele,1 use a fender american tele(sometimes this guy use a samick superstrat) n another 1 use a cort X-6...

basically,if got the resources($) then buy many guitars n change wen u play diff. songs..if no resources($) then get something acceptable n juz play lah...anywei most ppl cant tell the diff. in sound between a strat n les paul..n better still, they dont care!to them, guitars r juz guitars..switching too often will send them thingking,'this guy likes to 'flirt' ah...'

hey guys recently i have a friend who is gonna play christian rock and he's trying to get a guitar to suit that kind of genre. But he doesn't know which guitar will suit christian rock eg.planet shakers. So any recommendations on which guitar he should get?
Er. This is rather pointless to discuss though. Imagine if I say I wanna play rock music and which guitar should I get? Isn't it dumb? No offence though but I hope u seriously do your research first before posting anything silly on SOFT. Just get a Fender Strat and it can do the job already.
