My (Red) Anderson ....

Hi Mark,

Just wondering if you got the above mentioned guitars from Thomas. When did you purchare your Suhr?? I understand from John it's been ages since he'd last shipped guitars to Singapore.

What is cheapest Fender S-S-H (is that the same as H-S-S?)?

As far as I know, there is no H-S-S guitar.

No, its not the same. Humbuckers and single coils in different positions make for different sounds.

I think the cheapest Fat Strat is maybe... 1,000 +???? not too sure.

The most versatile guitar... MY RG!!!!! WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Invader Neck, Lil 59 middle, JB bridge.

All three can be individually coil tapped, and add that to 5 way switching, I can get around... 16 sounds? Plus the tonal differences of the pickups. The JB and Invader are heavy as hell, and the Lil 59 is slightly more polite. Anything from Jazz to Metal.

See, you don't need a fancy Line 6 =P Just a cool set of pickups. :D

My personal opinion, so don't kill me. I can't help it the RG is the most valuable thing I own, so naturally I'm totally in love with it.

Hi Malcolm,

Only the Tyler is from Thomas.

The TA is from eBay.

The Suhr is from Indoor Storm (fantastic chaps, recommend them whole heartedly).

Went on a bit of a buying spree last year, all 3 pretty much came around the same time.

Would you consider the Squire series a Fender?

I have played the HSS Squire model with the agathis body and I really liked the guitar.

You should give it a try.

Darned, JM, the burning water guitar is beautiful.

And with those three tiny switches.... wow.

Thanks Praetorian, I think the Tyler is the epitome of a versatile guitar which carries very little in terms of tone, feel, and workmanship.

U should even check out the scalopped fretboard and the scalped fret access (not visible in photo) .... very nice improvements James Tyler made on the Strat.

How different is SSS compared to HSS as far as sound is concerned?

quite a bit actually.

The HSS config works well with the SCs being stacked hums that can be further split or set parallel. But u sacrifice some of the actual SC tone or the actual Humbucker tone.

But if u were a collector/studio cat and wanted specific sounds, then ur're better off getting an LP-styled guitar, a Tele-styled guitar and a Strat-styled guitar.

Dat way, u dont compromise on actual humbucker sounds or SC sounds.

Check this out! Lol.

Endorsed by 3 Doors Down, The Cure, Adam Levy, Jimmy Allen, Davy Lai, Joe Bonamassa, The Standind Shadows and Joan Osborne, to name a few.

hmm..i always asked that question but then my teacher told me its not about genre or versatility..its the sound that you wanna get. but i guess probably strats, ibanez rg's and parker guitars are the most versatile.

Malcolm,

Thats a beautiful Reverend!!

I've heard that the humbucker is voiced to sound consistent with the SCs.

Whats your retail pricing on that?
