Hey guys, I'm looking around for a new pair of earphones for my iPod! What earphones do you guys use? Any recommendations too? I'm willing to spend about 100 bucks. but if the shure e2c is thaaaaaat good then maybe I'll save a little longer. haha. what do you think? thanks in advance!

if you're not concerned abt looking funny with cool, old-school, air traffic controller headphones... Check out the Grado SR60. Amazing value.

Alawn..shiok ah ultimate ears. Never tried them b4. Now I'm just using the stock ipod phones...=(

yo bro - was really into headphones for a period. used to have the sr60 and sr80s but sold them off in the end cos it was a a little inconvenient and hot after awhile. the UE SuperFi 3 rocks by far for sound quality and convenience. (i.e. small - lightweight - does not mess up hair gel - and comes in an ultra cool metal box which i don't use..plus it's sound isolation is pretty cool..and it comes with different ear plug sizes and types to swap with...) heh.

Alawn, u use hair gel meh?!

haha cool, lemme try ur UE's one day. I might get tempted to become a burgeoning audiophile again...

I'm using the inexpensive AudioTechnica CK32, paid less than $30 i think. Its in-ear style and good for my bus rides to/fro work. Its been a year and its still fine. Needs broken-into before it looses its ginsu-knife highs and sounds warmer.

But the iPod have to be set to Dance for it to sound good to me... :D

im using the Super Fi 3s also. personally i felt they sounded the best form the ones i tested.

tried out the shure e3c, the westone UM1 and the super fi 3.

super fi 3 sounded the bestr to me but the UM1 had the most comfort and besr fit, super fi can get a bit tiring and not everyone can use it cuz the earbud is kinda big if ur ear canal is smaller the fit is bad. UM1 would be the best bet in that case.

this very friendly guy at jaben (the adelphi one of the top floors) deals these earphones too. u can test out the earphones b4 u try.

i'm also looking for one inner ear one but i didnt like the ulitmate ears (cant rem the model.. but the other variant with the dual drivers $300+ rocked)

i'm thinking of heading there to try the beyer dynamics one again. seems ok to me.

I'm using some philips in-ear earphones...bassy,just the way I like it..and yeah, there are different types of the earplugs...so if your earhole is small just use the small one..interesting thread btw..

ya i do ok. i wants to be "yian dao kia" like you la...

no prob. btw edwin's back did u guys catch up yet?
i tried to get into the whole audiophile scene even blew my hard earned cash on a budget hi-fi setup but wah liewz...regret man...shoulda kept the money and bought another amp or somethin...argh.

you can try crossroads mylar 3. uncle wilson from Jabet Networks at The Adelphi distributes it. apparently, many users are saying it is comparable to higher-end earphones, but selling at around $70 only. only thing is you gotta buy other more comfortable tips as the stock ones suck.

you can research more about it at hardwarezone forums or headfi.org

get the Grados SR60 la... good stuff for $100+ ....

personally i almost never use in-ear buds anymore... it feels like the music is being forced into your ear...

does in-ear increases the chances of being deaf? or issit equally the same as wearing headphones?

I have a problem with normal earphones..it keeps on falling of..that is why I moved to in-ear earphones.
