PS: sry for the blur picture, trying to indicate the broken area as best as it would allow me to....

Why would you want to replace your tuners? Any reasons?

Your pup ring will be easily replaced at places like Davis. Bring your guitar along to make sure you get the right one.

to make it look more like it's other Gibson family members :D...

hey,if u get those tuners replaced, be sure to sell the stock 1s yeah..they're grover right?

Would the Gibson-styled tuners retrofit onto your current grover-styled tuners? Would you need to drill any mounting holes? Are the Gibson-style tuners more stable than the current ones? Or will the tuning ratio be improved?

Just make sure you can answer those questions above. I value functionality over looks, so if the Gibson-style tuners will look "nicer" but function in a less stable manner, I don't see the point.

Hmm, Wise... yeah they're Grovers, i definately nneed to get the rings changed... cause the pickup slides down and affects the tone on the low E, unless i sit down and play then it will be fine, but i cant sit and play...Lol...bad for back if i slouch haha

Those look like Grovers to me and if you do change to those Gibby Tulip style pegs, you will need to drill an additional hole for the top screw.

However I do remember that there is a company who makes Gibby style pegs but with higher gear ratio, dun remember the name of the company though and I'm not sure if you can get them locally.

Not sure why you wanna change the grovers ('cept for the looks). My LP custom has them and they work wonderfully, turning ratio is great and tuning rather stable. Im one person who believes if something works, don't fix it. :D

also playing a guitar which i think is "nice" gives me more confidence, I think.... i dunno la, but so far, it isnt That big of a deal....

actually i;ve never really bothered about all this, but i realise that, hey we do have the stuff here... might as well, about the drilling, no im not gonna ask them to drill it, I'll just leave it as 1 screw,

but ur quite sure that they have the replacement parts for my pickups right??/ just double checking with ya'll

Those tuners usually have the screws there for a reason. If you don't screw that in, you compromise your tuning stability.

The main issue is, what you want for the tuners, seem to be more of a functional downgrade.

Yes, pup rings are readily available at Davis.

great, i'll Fly down to Davis tommrrow to get it replaced.. the shaky thing is just so annoying... *clog clog*

actually i think, these tuning Heads can be opened.. so if i purcahse the Gib style heads, i'll remove the keys and swap them into the Grovers.. and leave the original Grovs on.. so yea...

as in why i want thme woulldd be becasuueee Purly of the LOok of it thast all

I also notice we got very little choice of Straps in Singapore... i cant really find a bigger va-riah-Thee those liek the Fender "leather" Plastic straps...

hey, let me warn you first... Grover tuners are damn solid compared to the Gibson tulip type (worst if it's the plastic ones).

i have used both types and Grovers really hold your tuning extremely well. if you are looking at the plastic tulip type, they can get stiff after a few years.

the vintage Kluson types with plastic suck....but don't let that stop you...they put them on those $8k Historic Les Paul reissues don't they!

Normally, whether the machine head can hold the tuning well has to do more with whether the nut is properly cut. Once properly cut, a machine head with 14:1 ratio should hold the tune pretty well.
