Where to find audio taper pots?

Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, please move it if its in the wrong section.

Where can I find audio (logarithmic) taper 250k and 500k ohm pots (potentiometers) in Singapore? I can only find linear taper pots in Sim Lim Tower.

Thanks.

dimarzio pots are my favourite and are audio taper. gotoh pots are also not bad, but there are taper versions and non taper versions, must check on price tag.

dimarzios can be found at sweelee, and maybe for cheaper at EILLEKOET Music Parts Convenience Store http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq4AVpQgIis

gotoh can be gotten at zen guitars

Hey MadWerewolfBoy, what time is this EILLEKOET open?

I went there once on a sat afternoon and they were closed...

i suppose it's a compliment. seeing as how don corleone, both vito and michael were great men.

but i got my push pulls from beez i think. i forgot. i definitely remember the giant orange drop capacitor was from him.

pardon my ignorance, but was that a complaint or a compliment?

That comment was not directed at you.
What I meant is it's the kind of shop u have to go by appointment.
As to complaint or compliment: it always depends on your point of view.

And btw, since I have to call, do u know the phone number, coz I didn't see any on that clip.

i had the exact opposite experience with those push pulls a long time ago..

I still think CTS pots are reliable. CTS pots were used on Fenders since the 60s and they still work even till today.

I'm using a cts push push pot on my RG7421. It's used as a kill switch and it's still going strong after 6 months. I'm thinking of changing the circuitry to split or something since it would be a bad idea to misuse such a an expensive pot.

CTS pots are reliable so i've heard, but i could not verify whether the pots i got from gc were in fact, CTS pots because they were shit compared to the gotohs and dimarzios i've tried. and i knew they were gotohs and dimarzios cause of the packaging.

I bought a few pots from guitar connection before. I have a lot of spare parts lying around because I've too many projects in mind.

I've swapped out the pots on my Jacksons and they were an improvement compared to the stock Japanese pots.

To my knowledge they only ask me if I wanted the USA made pot or the China made pot. AFAIK, they get the USA made ones from allparts. I don't think it's a CTS made because I did search the product number on the website and they did not mention anything about being CTS made. I don't think CTS makes Push Pull pots.

Heres a cts pot. you can tell by the markings.

heres a the product number of the push push pot I bought. (same as the one that relinquish69 has)

Notice that they both contain the letters EP something. related or not I'm not too sure.

Picture of both Alpha and the USA made pot

Alpha pots will be labelled.

@MadWerewolfBoy

take a picture of your pots and we will see. however, you should always clarify with the guys there if you are not sure. at least I did.

haha i threw those useless suckers away long time ago. had them swapped out in 3 months cause they became scratchy. got 2 dimarzios push pull and was quite satisfied. they're around 2 years old now and they're still going strong! a little pricey though cause i got them from swee lee

I'm usually quite anal with specifications. I usually spam the salesman with my questions. I have my Jackson Warrior loaded with a push push pot and so far it's working well for me. Scratchy pots are usually due to oxidation. spray a little bit of contact spray and they are good to go!

yes i did waste some money getting a can of contact spray. i remember now why i got it. i had it to spray my pots as well as my jack, which was supposedly switchcraft. i didn't expect the metal contact to oxidise that badly in such a short time as i've heard switchcraft jacks are good. again, dumb me, didn't verify if they were actually switchcraft jacks in the first place.

i was just instructed to buy cts pots and switchcraft jacks from GC by beez when i told him i wanted an electronic overhaul.

screw that experience, i'm now very happy with all my electronic parts being fully dimarzio (i'm highly guessing the pots are made by CTS anyway). bought them during a sweelee sale at 10% discount so the damage to my wallet was not so bad.
