Where to buy good 'over-the-head' headphones in Singapore?

Anyone know where's a good place to get 'over-the-head' headphones?

Any recommendations for headphone models?

I'm looking for one that won't 'LEAK' sound out and give others background noise (e.g. maybe something closed-back). Really want to listen to my music and leave others in peace, know what i mean?

Anyone?

Cheers.

not so sure about isolation headphones, but am using Grados SR80s now and seriously most shiok i've had thus far. My Sony 7506 runs a close second, perhaps this one more for you since it does the isolation thinggie pretty well. Grados can find at Music By Design at Adelphi, Sony 7506 Hung Bros at Sim Lim. cheers!

Erm... what is this "over-the-head" headphone or isolation headphone? I have been heavily dependent on my DJ headphones and has not come across this before, not until I read this thread.

Anyone care to enlighten?

I'm using Audio Technica ATHM-30.

Not the bestestester but works well and i got it at a GRREEEAAT price.

Should be available at hung bros at sim lim.

Double decker,

I think over the head simply means the headphones has its 2 cans joined by a connecting piece that sit "over your head" when worn. Unlike normal disc man headphones where you have the 2 ear piece dangling on seperate wires.

Closed simply means the construction of the cans (earpiece) is such that sound leakage in the out is minimized.

Thanks Robin for the explanation.

I'm looking for new headphones too and I'm wondering how good is the JTS HP-535 in SOFT Online Store. I monitor my music majorly from my headphones since I can't crank up the volume too much due to family and the timing of my composing hours. (Usually late nights til dawn.)

I'm looking for more options although S$50 looks like a good steal. Anybody using it now?

I'm also looking at Sony Z700 (which is also same price range as JTS), Audio Technica M-40 and Sennheiser HD-280. It's difficult to be able to test them out at shops, mostly are sealed box. Can only ask from people whom have use them before.

I have not had experience with the headphones you mentioned.
however, I do not really have confidence in JTS microphones. I used to have a couple of them. All of them has broken down within 1.5 years.

Regards
Robin

I finally know where to find Grados ... hahhha ..

anyway ... you can check out Sennheiser's eh350 ... Luther just brough them in recently ... something i wanted to get for a while ...

i'm using a HS202 which is a entertainment headphones but i used it for professional monitoring and mixing before and it works very well. Just gotta be careful of the bass emphasis it has while mixing ...
